Two of us dropped in for a casual lunch; I live around the corner and love Ellington's but never got to check this place out. Had a really great bagel with some scallion spread and a bowl of matzoh ball soup. The cobb salad was fabulous as was the service and setting. This place sells bagels AND LOAVES of bread to go!Check it out.

This place is old school cool, I can visualize a young Steve McQueen sitting in the corner watching the door. Friendly and professional but not obtuse service at the bar. Great tasting coffee. Batman and Robin I'm a fight scene playing on the wall. Bagel is not quite chewy enough to be a real NY/NJ bagel but the cream cheese is perfect.

Came here for The Office themed trivia and it was an awesome bar I never would have come to otherwise. Though I must give the caveat that they had a special menu for trivia nights, the prices were unbelievable! Local drafts were $3!! And they had some very delicious looking apps that I didn't get the chance to try but definitely ogled down the bar. Very friendly and attentive staff and a classy atmosphere without being too upscale/stuffy.

Old school 50s 60s decor and classic upscale vibe without feeling ritzy. Everything that we ate was amazing. The meal and service was outstanding. Highly recommend the French Toast and the fruit was fresh. They have in house homemade bread and pastries as well.

Be warned: if you order takeout from this place, do NOT order it to be ready at a future time. I ordered my food at 11 to be picked up at 12. They made the food immediately and let it sit and get cold. Their fries were under seasoned and ice cold. And even worse was their pastrami sandwich, which was tough and bland

This is the third time I've dined in this restaurant in the Fairlane Hotel. It was previously the Mile End Deli. Because this is around the corner from my office, I've tried it. I REALLY wanted to like it. There aren't any decent bagels in Nashville AND the lure of Montreal bagels got to me. Mile End has completed it's relationship with the hotel and the hotel has extended their Union Teller coffee/breakfast counter into the deli space. Again, I REALLY wanted to like it. But I was again disappointed. What's good about the place? It is beautifully appointed in a comfortable retro decor. The service is warm and friendly. What is unfortunate is the food. Today's items and their state: we had latkes (potato pancakes) as a starter. They were woefully under-cooked. Done-ness is indeed a preference, but with potatoes, there is a clear demarcation of done and uncooked. Also, the toppings... normally, there is a choice of applesauce or sourcream. We received the latkes already topped with each. What was odd: sliced scallion topped the applesauce while the sour cream was not. Savory scallions and sweet applesauce are not my idea of a nice sweet & savory combination. It struck me as odd and out of place. The salads ordered by our group appeared to be the best bet. There were two egg orders. The eggs were prepared as ordered. Good! One order was corned beef hash and eggs over easy, with home fries. The home fries were 90% undercooked. They looked as though they were fully cooked, with beautiful carmelization on their skins, but the insides were waxy and nearly raw. The corned beef was not has - not the ground or shredded meat combined with diced tomatoes and other delights (often peppers). The corned beef was more like slices of spam, and sliced on the thicker measure of pre-sliced sandwich bologna. A couple of the corned beef slices did have nice carmelization, and once slided into even smaller pieces were OK.Each time I've dined here, there was always something off-kilter about the dish. Advice to kitchen: it's OK to prepare tradition food in the traditional way. I'm afraid this kitchen staff has run out of the chances I will give them. Downtown Nashville has so many offerings. You can skip this one.

These are the worst "bagels" we have ever had, they taste like they were prepared days ago. Don't waste your time or money. The only reason they received one star is that the staff was pleasant.
