4.5, 5 for decor, 4 for drinks.Was able to snag a reservation the day of on a Friday night. Undertow is part of this three-themed-bar complex called Century Grand, which has two other themed bars - Grey Hen and Platform 18. Platform 18 is a train car, and Grey Hen is a New Orleans themed one. Undertow, of course, is a tiki bar. And it's very well done. They have these portholes that have images on the outside like you are actually on a ship. My favorite part was probably the novella of a menu they have, is sort of like a ship manifest or captain's log, which includes menu items, spirits, glossary of ingredients and spirits (at least some of which is copy pasta from Wikipedia, like the entry on Dragon's Blood), and a random chapter of a novel with beautiful pictures and a heart wrenching story involving a giant dodo.Overall, really cool experience.Parking is easy - lot parking. I was hoping for a themed bathroom as well, but no such luck. It's shared bathroom between the three themed bars, and quite unremarkable.(From April 2022)

This is not our first time at Undertow, but we recently received an email letting is know there is a new menu. The theme is now Mexican pirates. Everything in the bar looks the same, except the "view" from the porthole windows i(at least where we were sitting) s a Mayan temple. The music is also kind of Mayan sounding. They've added some food (munchies, not meals) and carbonated cocktails. We didn't have either. We ordered the Mamay Sapote, a yummy cocktail with two kinds rum, orange liqueor, macadamia nut, and white chocolate, and a classic Zombie. Both were delish! The drinks are great, but the atmosphere is really a huge party of the experience. A great place for a fun drink. Keep in mind that you have to secure your reservation with a credit card. The $12 per person deposit is applied to your bill, but the $6 fee is not. Also they add a 4% staff benefits fee.

We tried the one in Gilbert. It was super loud and echoey hard to talk and drinks not so great. Have to say it's exact same way here as well. Sadly, love the idea of replace.service is good ambience is amazing. Just wish it wasn't so loud and echoes make it had to visit with one another

The whole experience! We even when during tiki oasis but on Wednesday night. You need to get Reservations. And you need to buy a glass or something;). They just survive off alcohol. I got the Jeff granite glass to add to my collection and they had a back scratcher for me. Best bar tenders for listening and chatting with us lovely ladies. Perfect experience with an established traveling tiki gal.

Let me first start out by saying, I love tiki cocktails!!! They are my favorite type of boozy cocktail to enjoy. So I was geared up to give Undertow 5 stars, but I'm giving 4 stars as that more matches my experience. So, if you are a party of 2, they are going to seat you at these small 2 tops located on the sides of the bar. They have little port hole windows that are cute, but that's where the cuteness ends. The 2 tops aren't great, the seats are awkwardly positioned near the wall (too close to the wall), there is nowhere to put a coat or purse, and the servers nearly bump into you regularly to pass by. It's not a great seat. Sorry, it's just not. The bar seats and the larger tables appeared much better situated. The bar is a small space so I get it, they are putting as much seating in as able to. But, just know if you go as a party of 2 and it's busy, they will have to seat you at the 2 top. So, next time I go back, I will have 3 or more people in our group in order to get better seats. Ok, enough about that lol. The drinks are great tiki cocktails-- boozy and delicious!! The cocktails I give 5 stars! I love tiki cocktails and Undertow is doing those right. I wanted to try more drinks on the menu but after 3 drinks (between both of us), I was sufficiently feeling good and knew it was time to stop. Service was fine, our server checked in regularly. The ambiance here is what it's all about. It's dark, which is a very tiki vibe, and it's decorated as if you're on a ship, going on a sea voyage . Overall, it was a great place for craft cocktails. I would like to check out the Gilbert location also and see what their layout is like. And I would like to try the other bars attached in the century grand building.
