Umami Sushi

Umami Sushi is definitely a good spot for sushi!This is an authentic spot that always has super fresh sushi whenever I eat here. They have plenty of options of classic and unique rolls, along with appetizers, hibachi & teriyaki entrees, a party tray, and more. They definitely specialize in sushi which consists of 90% of their menu. Everything is very reasonably priced as well, plus they do a lunch special. It's really easy to place an order - I always just call and have never had any wait or complications. They don't have any online ordering but truly it's so efficient and easy to place your order via phone. My one complaint is they're takeout only. It's spacious inside and the sushi is good so I'm curious as to why they're still carryout only and don't offer dine-in. Maybe it's due to staffing since they have the space for it. Will continue ordering from Umami Sushi!

This restaurant was popping on a Friday evening around 9:30 PM. The inside seating is very aesthetic and fits their Japanese vibe well. They have covered patio seating that I think would be great to sit out in when the weather is warmer. My friends and I ended up sitting in the covered patio because it was so crowded but they have tall heaters that kept us warm.I ordered the Zaru Soba and the overall taste was very refreshing and good. The portion is not very big because the dish overall isn't very filling. I was a little upset by the amount of garnish they give - I believe the garnish is what makes or breaks this dish. If they had provided more grated radish, the dish would've been a 5/5. However, I would rate it a 4.3/5.My friend got the Katsu Curry and it was huge! The restaurant provided a lot of meat and curry for one portion. From the bite I tasted, the curry was a great thickness which plentiful of flavor. The katsu flakes were crispy, the meat was not chewy and had a great texture and flavor as well.I was only visiting Chicago but I would've definitely come again if I had more time.

Really good sushi, it's a carry-out only restaurant. When we usually order sushi, we also add hot appetizers, my favorite is the shrimp tempura. We get it a couple times a month, it's always tasty....

Whenever I'm craving sushi, this is my go-to. I remember it being AYCE but this place is strictly to go only now. I typically get the lunch special: 3 rolls and 2 sushi. Honestly, it's definitely cheaper than other sushi restaurants near me. If you want something cheaper and more for your money, this is the spot aka get the lunch special! Unfortunately no dine in still. However, this is a great lunch option if you're around the area and can pick up your food.

It looks great from the outside, very nice friendly staff. It must be good as they had a long wait 40-45 min wait for food to be ready; so call ahead and place your order early.There is no dine in now, to go only.

The dinner and lunch specials are generous and prices really well, I always recommend them for a quick grab and go. I do wish they delivered, but I don't mind the hike over to pick it up. Happy to deal with their busy parking lot for the huge meal for a great deal.

This is no longer a dine-in restaurant. Just pick up service. Ambiance is one of a cheap, sushi pick up restaurant now. Don't even bother. Before the pandemic, this place was AYCE. The price for the sushi was definitely worth it and it still is with takeout. The sushi always tastes great and this is a neighborhood favorite. Umami Sushi never fails to satisfy my sushi craving.

This was before the pandemic. All you can eat sushi. Not only sushi,but also different hot and cold appetizers. I can't wait for them to open again for dine in. The quality of the food was amazing.

The place is never open for inside the owner tells you he doesn't have staff then hire people because I got a new place down the street all you can eat with staff
