Must Visit. One of the top sushi spots in PhoenixNo need for any soy sauce/wasabi as the sushi comes dressed and should be eaten as it's preparedServers do a great job running down the menu and they'll course everything out. Most items on menu are top notch. Can't go wrong

HUGE disappointment. If you are a traditionalist sushi fan, just know in advance. Fish quality, exceptional Service, excellent. Atmosphere, phenomenal. Poor execution. Sushi bar, all Nigiri is seasoned in advance with whatever flavors the "chef" decides as appropriate. Would have been good to have been told in advance! The Ahi left an aftertaste in my mouth hours after. Sake was excellent - seemed to be just soy. After "inquiring" and asking for traditional sushi - I received naked Saba and Hamachi. No soy, no wasabi, no ginger, just raw fish on rice. I didn't appreciate the attitude about not wanting to provide my cell phone number at check in with the hostess either. The faces I recieved when I said no... WOW. Should be FIVE stars all around for anyplace with this kind of food quality, ell else aside. Will go elsewhere next time.

We went to Uchi for the first time last night and had an awesome experience! The restaurant has an upscale Japanese feel to it with really nice decor. The staff were very friendly and our waitress was awesome. She was very attentive and was able to provide great recommendations. We started with their komorebi drink which was very light and refreshing. Then we had their salmon and yellow tail rolls which were absolutely delicious. I had not had yellowtail before because I'm not a huge sushi fan but after eating here I think that's changing. We also got their Wagyu and that was really flavorful and almost melted in your mouth when you ate it.This is probably my top sushi spot in Scottsdale and would definitely recommend!

Been wanting to go to this restaurant since they opened in Miami, when I used to live there. First of all, service was excellent. Juliette, our server was just wonderful. Ambience wise, I loved the decor and the entrance door!! It could be a little loud though. Maybe because I went right after the happy hour and it was pretty packed. But it wasn't too bothersome.As for food, everything I was delicious. However, some of the items were a bit too "creative" for my liking. This is just my humble opinion but when I ordered sashimi, I just wanted simple slices of sashimi. Not with yuzu kosho on them. Don't get me wrong, they are good but it's not what I wanted that night. Also some fish wasn't cut good. If you like food creations, you would love this restaurant.

Uchi has my heart! Some of the best if not the best sushi that I have ever had. Even the dishes that I thought would lack luster and be unimpressive left me speechless and impressed. Came here for the second time this year and this time for a friends birthday. Our waiter was so attentive he gifted us a free dessert and 2 nigiris that were SO good. Looking forward to coming back and trying their Omakase soon!

It's been a long time since I've had food like this. It's obvious that a lot of thought, time and care has been put into each dish here at Uchi, every dish we had was impeccable. Cooked to perfection, extremely balanced, and explosion of umami flavors. From everything we had, these are the ones I highly recommend: hiramasa crudo, hotate aguachile, kinoko nabe ordered with the pork belly, gyumaki, zero sen, guy toro, and you have to end it with the fried milk and jasmine cream dessert. On top of the food being amazing, our server John and every wait staff that came to the table was amazing. Thank you for the amazing service and fantastic food, can't wait to be back

So glad I discovered Uchi! Everything we ordered was fresh and full of flavor. The hamachi and the tuna sashimi were my 2 favorites. The kids had a kick out of cooking the wagyu on the hot rock! Such a fun experience. The vibe was great and the service was even better. Our waitress was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and made great recommendation. Can't wait to be back when we are back in town.

The absolute BEST Japanese restaurant in all of arizona. I came here for a Yelp event a month or so back, so this is how I found out about this place . Today I dined with my friends and it was just the perfect experience. From being greeted kindly by the host to our AMAZING waiter Nick!! Nicks service was TOP NOTCH. He went above and beyond for us and I'm really grateful for him. The dishes were all amazing! My favorite will always be the Walu Walu. Service, food, and ambiance were FANTASTIC. By far the best sushi you will find. I just love this place and will continue to keep coming back. They have meAs a loyal customer!! The manager is very kind too!

I really liked the modern aesthetics and the vibe of this restaurant. Hubby and I went around 5pm and decided to try a lot of items on their happy hour menu. I had high hopes and was excited for the food. The first dish that came out was wagyu carpaccio $9.5: fried jalapeño, cured egg told, nuoc cham, chili oil- I was very surprised that it was very bland and did not taste like anything. Second dish that came out was broccoli $7: Thai chimichurri, furikake- it was so cloyingly sour I wanted to spit it out. Next dish was the chef's choice $14- 4 pieces of amberjack sashimi- this was good but the pieces were so tiny especially for the price. Fourth dish we tried was ebi skewer $9- tiger shrimp, leche de tigre, coconut furikake: very disappointed it had no flavor and the shrimp was so much smaller than what the pictures depict. At this point I was pretty disappointed and regretted coming here. Our server Amber however was amazing. She asked how the dishes were. I was very transparent as I believe feedback is the only way they can improve. She was very appreciative of the feedback. To our surprise Amber said she had some presents for us on the house and brought out 3 dishes that were not on the happy hour menu. Hama chili $24- 4 small pieces of yellowtail with ponzu, Thai chili, and orange supreme: this was tasty but again the pieces were tiny. Gyu toro nigiri $16: 72 hour Australia wagyu- this was amazing. The Wagyu melted in my mouth. Maguro zuke $14: marinated big eye tuna- 2 pieces of nigiri, this was good and the rice had a bit of sweetness.You would think with all this food we would have been full but we were not even close to being satisfied. The portions here are tiny, some of the flavors are really off and the prices are pretty steep. You can easily spend $200/person just on the food. The service was fabulous and I really appreciated Amber. She was the highlight of our dinner.I asked and their Happy Hour Omakase is $80.

Had a wonderful meal at Uchi this evening. We had the Omakase Chef's tasting. It was 10 courses that really turned into more like 12, but we managed to fit it all in! Service was great, we sat at the sushi bar where we had a Birds Eye view of the preparation. Every course was perfect. Hard to choose favorites. So I will add some pictures of the highlights. But pretty sure you can't go wrong with anything you order here. The fish was remarkably fresh and all items were accompanied by an array of complex flavors that demanded focus as they exploded all over your taste buds. Lots of layers to every offering. A well trained staff presented each dish with a mouth watering full description. Service was sharp and appropriately attentive. Although sometimes difficult to hear what they were saying as there is a lot of background noise here. We will definitely return for other special occasions in the future!
