Came in with my parents a few weeks ago for dinner, and after leaving.. I definitely decided this will not be my last visit! Waitress was super friendly, even the bartenders working while we were waiting for our table were awesome to chat with. This place has a really cool inside, I love how old school the vibes are but you can tell they really know their food too. To eat, I ordered the grilled chicken breast sandwich, and my parents got the pulled pork and the burger. We loved our dishes! Fries were excellent to. We were told not to skip on the ribs so that will be our order next time :)Such a cool vibe in here that is pretty rare to still find in Chicago. I hope this place never changes.

I enjoyed trying this iconic Chicago spot! We first sat at the bar while we waited for our table and enjoyed the old school ambiance and decor. They have a great cocktail list, wines, and beers. I tried an elderflower spritz, Sauvignon blanc, and Pinot noir throughout the evening. We started with the creamed spinach dip to share, and this was delicious. The chips were nice and fried too. I shared the full slab of ribs with the prohibition sauce and zesty sauce on the side to try. Both were delicious, but we all preferred the prohibition sauce. The ribs were super tender and tasty. We also had green beans as our side, and these were tasty as well.Service was great and prices very reasonable! Definitely recommend this spot for an iconic Chicago experience.

I wanted to like this so bad... but it just wasn't good. First off, when we were trying to enter a huge crowd left, so we waited for the door to clear before entering. An employee asked us "are you coming in?" Like we weren't trying to... it was so weird and off putting. The food itself was bland, bland, bland. They don't season their fries or onion rings. If you don't season right away, the seasoning doesn't stick, so you're left with inedible food that doesn't salt well at the table. I ordered a half rack or ribs... they were more like a quarter. The ribs themselves were "fall off the bone" but lacked any flavor or seasoning. I think this place is allergic to salt and pepper. To get any flavor with the meat, I had to douse it with the BBQ sauce on the side. The amount of meat on this "half" rack was laughable. The bones basically took up the entire portion and I was left with scraps. Comically bad ribs. I can't believe people say these are the best ever. I can make better with a trip to jewel and my oven.

Oh those ribs are just so good! It's a neighborhood staple for a reason. They do what they do so well that nothing has changed in a million years nor should it. It's got an old school nostalgic charm that makes it so special. There may not be any frills here, but there doesn't need to be. I just dream about the ribs, that sauce and the delicious creamed spinach. Last time I was in, I ordered the half slab and immediately regret it as soon as I finished. Don't be like me. Get the full slab. You know you'll eat it!

We stumbled into this spot walking around the neighborhood, and it was cool to learn that it is quite famous. There are a few movies that were filmed here, and one of them being one of my favorite films of all time - The Dark Knight. If you have a ticket stub from that movie, bring that along to your visit to Twin Anchors and you will be rewarded with something. Onto the food, the ribs were fall off the bone tender. The spicy BBQ is unique and flavorful. The chicken was juicy and filling. Can't go wrong with ordering this half rib half chicken dish. A must try is the chilli too.

Party of four dined an a Sunday afternoon at 2pm. Twin Anchors has been on our short list to try for a while. We were seated outside immediately. We've tried to go here previously, but it's always been so busy. Scored a good parking space on Wells St. (free on Sunday). Service was quick. We had a combination of ribs and chicken. Sides of beans, baked potato and coleslaw were good. Ribs were very tender, but a little tasteless. We ordered with the zesty bbq sauce. Also tried the spicy sauce version. For us the right sauce could have been a mix of the two. Rib portion (full slab) was small. Ribs seemed short. Also shared a Cesar salad which was meh. Weather today was excellent and we were able to see a few of the jets from the air show. IMO there are better places for ribs.

Seems to be a Chicago staple. On a Saturday afternoon on NYE weekend, there was a line waiting for the doors to open at noon. The menu is sparse; simple but well done. Ribs, chicken, a handful of salads and apps...seems like it's successfully remained the same for some time. The Prohibition sauce had more kick to it than I prefer in my bbq sauce, but everyone else at my table really enjoyed theirs. Service was okay. I wouldnt come back for the food or service; but I would come back for the vibes. Maybe I'll sit at the bar next time.

I've been wanting to come here for a while now. I have always been hesitant in trying this place out. I've heard some good things about them, but it didn't seem like my type of bbq joint. All I can say is I've been missing out. I called in my order and the staff was great on the phone and in person. The place was also packed. It was small inside with an old school vibe, but I can definitely see why it's busy. The ribs were damn delicious. I've always said there's two types of bbq food. Smoked bbq with a great rub, doesn't need bbq sauce. And then there's bbq food that isn't smoked and doesn't have a great rub, that one usually requires bbq sauce. And the sauce better be good. Twin Anchors is the latter. The ribs were perfectly cooked and literally falls off the bone. They're unfortunately not the best on their own, but their Prohibition Sauce is definitely one of the best bbq sauces out there. It's a sweet and spicy sauce and it's very addicting. I also ordered their half chicken to mix things up but I did regret not ordering two full slabs instead. The chicken was dry, lacked flavor and on the smaller side. I would have preferred for them to cut each piece individually to make it look like there's more food. I ordered this with their mild sauce which was ok. It reminded me of another bbq sauce that I wasn't a big fan of in the suburbs. I also ordered their creamed spinach which was really good and a baked potato which I also regret ordering. I will definitely be returning for their ribs and ribs alone.

Fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars... Twin Anchors has been around #Chicago since 1932 and is an institution, and known as one of Frank Sinatra's favorite spots in the Windy City. They are known for their ribs (full or half rack) that are tender and fall of the bone and zesty beans as a side. Their appetizers the pepper jack creamed spinach is on point. Surprise of the night is the Ahi Tuna Salad which was a generous portion of ahi tuna on a salad. The service is amazing here! I think I've had the same server each time I've been there and she is lovely. Cool atmosphere that is good for families and friends #ribs #classic
