Turf Supper Club

So as inflation goes bonkers, I've gotten pretty good at identifying blatant money grabs.Last night was one for the books that I don't think everyone realizes but is distinct to the nature of this particular establishment.   It goes like this...-You get seated at a table.-They take drink orders (1)-Bring your drinks / take orders-They then make you wait 40 minutes to bring you RAW food, that you then cook.  In that 40 minutes they're padding their bill with 2 more drinks.  NO APOLOGY FOR THE WAIT, NO OFFER OF A FREE ROUND.-You get charged for all of it and you tip on top of that.In short, Golden Hill has better options.  I will not be going back and will be actively redirecting others from this establishment in the future. If you do end up there.  After the first round of drinks.  Just do waters, until your food arrives.  Don't reinforce their practice.Also, Aspen-Cowboy-attitude doorman/bouncer, doesn't match with the flip-flop GoldenHill/South Park/ laidback San Diego.   My apologies, let me be more direct...  he's an asshole.

Had a great time here. Joined some friends from work for a night of Steaks and Spirits. Old school vibe, dark, red light hues inside. The bar has any cocktail you may like available. The bartenders were cool dudes, had good conversations while we waited for our booth. The grill is near the middle of the dining area, everyone finds a spot and add their items to cook. I ordered the Filet with a salad and potato. The steaks come with garlic bread, I slapped that on the grill too. There are several seasonings and sauces for flavor. My steak was really good, with garlic salt, pepper, all seasoning and a slab of butter. The waitstaff was cool and helpful. Good times

Door man tried to seat me and my buddy at a tiny ass corner loveseat. The place was empty and wasn't willing to let us sit at a booth. We settled for a table and chairs. The skirt steak was marinated to death in the most vile combination of flavors imaginable. Tasted like apple cider vinegar. The atmosphere and bar is a vibe if that's your thing, but for a restaurant, this place is a joke.

This is a great out of the ordinary dinner spot! Great cocktails and high quality meats to throw on a flaming hot grill!!!

What we ordered | 16 oz Ribeye | SangriaTaste | the meat selection was pretty good. Sangria was fruity and sweet. their garlic bread was really good. lots of flavor.Service | our server gave us recommendations and let us know when the grill was ready to cook our food when it was cleaned. she also went through the sauces available. Parking | street Notes | this place is a cook your own food style. they have a grill in the restaurant where you cook your meat to your liking as well as toasting your garlic bread. also has a bar. they ID you when you walk in. Very interesting concept and enjoyed the experience.

Turf supper Club is legit! Do people still say that?Be a hole in the wall not so great experience, ends up being really high quality. You can't go here and not get an old fashioned, it's required. You also get to order whatever food you want to make yourself. There's an option of different kinds of steaks, burgers, even vegetarian options. At the end of the day, you do end up grilling your own food in a grill that's in the center of the room. I have no idea how they are able to have this grill, seems like it would be a fire hazard.But it's super communal. You're grilling your food with other people, and then going back to your seat and drinking/eating. In a dive bar! Or at least it feels like a dive bar.

10 stars! Ended up cancelling all of my dinner reservations and eating here 5 nights in a row.The owner/manager certainly know what they're doing, and how to run a bar and restaurant.My Negronis were perfect each time, and I tried a ribeye, top sirloin and beef kabobs. If anything is not cooked perfectly, that's on you since you grill and season it yourself.Such a welcoming place. Everyone is friendly and hospitable. Spots like this are a throwback in time and deserve to be patronized and respected.Last night (Sunday) they had entertainment. Can't wait to come back.

We had great experience at Turf Supper Club.The service was great and good atmosphere.The steak was delicious. You can grill your own food

Even though we're all over 40/ some almost 50- we were not allowed to enter since almost 50 year old friend forgot ID lol Yeah we went for BBQ

Very bad service.2 of our friends were already eating and drinking at the bar, so, once me and my friend came in and tried to get a table for us 4, we got denied, because they were already eating at the bar, even though we were planning to eat at the empty tables they had left. I told them I was willing to spend money for food for us 4, they still denied us. I wouldn't recommend this place ever, even though I've been a regular customer at this bar for months.
