Lobby looking at Pool and Breakfast Area

I booked this hotel a year ago September planning for OSU weekend in May. Many other hotels were already significantly increasing their rates but the Wyndham was still fairly priced and seemed to be unchanged. I really respect that they were not predatory for the weekend. It is clear the hotel is showing its age and was clearly the spot in the 80s but could use a bit of update i side and out. When i arrived the desk staff was very helpful with a great service attitude and received the same from several desk staff during and at checkout. The market area to but sodas and other pantry items was hurting and could use a refresh and a lot more product and options. You can get a balcony room with a lobby view and do some people watching over the parking lot view i had. We did not try the pool or go in the pool area so your experience may vary. We only did breakfast one day that we were there as we ran out to IHOP the first morning. The food is definitely in line with a Hampton inn and will make due to get you going in the morning. Given the value of price for a weekend when the other hotels doubled their prices and friendly service I'm going with a Stillwater 4!!

Stayed there 2 nights cost me almost $200 which is fine. They took the money off my card the first night, 4 days later it went back on my card 3 and half weeks later they took it off my card again then put it back on my card the next day. I called about it and the guy on the phone kept telling me he would transfer me to the right department to get it taken care of. For 5 minutes he tried to sell me another reservation in a town I didn't stay in and kept getting my name wrong. I finally told him I don't care about all that I just want my money taken care of stop trying to sell me another damn reservation! He told me I would never get another discount from them and that they don't tolerate cussing? Play with my money then get upset when I get mad? I will never stay at another one of their places again!

This place is literally crumbling. Should not be rated even a 2.5 star. In it's time I could see that this was the place to be but time to let it go. Hot tub was like bath water, pool was freezing. Dim lighting in those areas helped to disguise the disrepair the place was in. Chunks of concrete missing in both pool and hot tub. No pool towels We had booked 2 rooms they were clean but like I said the walls in areas in the rooms were crumbling. Beds slept fine, staff was great. First we were checked into on the 3rd floor smelled closed up musty and dead, air conditioning didn't work so they moved us. When I booked I had asked for adjoining rooms if possible or at least near each other but got separated until the air was broke. Wyndham needs to hang up this hotel.

I would only recommend this hotel if no other options are available. There was nothing overall horrible about the hotel, but it is in desperate need of maintenance and cleaning and employee training. The hotel elevator is glass and the space between the inside and outside of it is filthy and filled with cobwebs, bugs and dirt. Chairs in the hallways have the bottoms falling out of them and the door lock on my room barely worked. I had to slam the door between my room and the next room and lock it upon my arrival. There are no blankets on the beds, only a very thin polyester bedspread that is probably not washed in between guests. The worst part is that my room was not made up as it should have been. I left on Sunday and worked moving my son into his apartment for at least 16 hours and came back to a hotel room that had not been made up. I had no clean towels or toiletries. They had no time to clean the room, but let me tell you, every time you went outside, the employees were sitting or standing out in front smoking cigarettes; something I have NEVER seen at a hotel in my life. The breakfast was just meh, and no one was even monitoring it and replenishing the food or cleaning up. It seemed that at all times, there was only one person at the hotel, and that was the person at the front desk, and they were gone most of the time. Most of the front desk people were very friendly and nice, when they were, but when I complained at checkout, the clerk spent about 30 minutes clicking keys on her computer and gave me only a $25.00 discount. When I stay at a Wyndham, I expect a far nicer hotel and better amenities than I experienced at this hotel. I believe with better management and maintenance this could be a much better hotel and more deserving of the Wyndham name.
