Wright's BBQ: A BBQ Lover's ParadiseAs Kansas City BBQ enthusiasts, we were a bit skeptical when our California cousins suggested a BBQ joint in Arkansas. But, hey, you can't say no to good BBQ! We arrived right at opening time and were surprised to see a line already forming. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including the 3-meat combo with beans and mac and cheese, and a side of mashed potatoes. The pulled pork was a standout - tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The brisket was also impressive, though perhaps not quite KC-style.But the real star of the show was the mashed potatoes. They were creamy, buttery, and had a secret ingredient that elevated them to another level. We were so engrossed in our meal that we didn't even notice our cousin sneaking bites of our mashed potatoes! The atmosphere at Wright's BBQ is casual and inviting. While the extended wait times can be a bit of a drawback, we highly recommend arriving early to avoid the crowds. If you're ever in Northwest Arkansas, Wright's BBQ is a must-visit. It's a great place to experience delicious BBQ and create lasting memories.

First and Foremost, make a trip to the ATM because this place is EXPENSIVE. The combos are about twice the cost OR half the food I expected for the price. An example is that an additional side of beans is $6.30. Extra anything is $6.30. Outrageous! The food tastes good. Again the servings are small. Sides come on a small paper boat. I thought when I saw the server carving and weighing the meat servings we would eat well. He ceased carving and weighing much sooner than I expected. Service is really non existent. One walks in and places the order with the aforementioned carver. Your meat is sent down the line to the side order filler. Steps away is the cashier who hands you your selfserve beverage cups as the e-pay tablet swings around for you to input your tip. Tip!?!? There is no table service. The ambiance is outdoor seating on picnic tables. There is a tent to protect from precipitation but doubtfully any temperature extremes. Been there, ate there, got my ticket punched WITHOUT any need or desire to return. Did I mention it's OVERPRICED?!?!

I had the 2 meat plate with brisket and bacon burnt ends, collard greens, and smoked beans. My husband had the ribs plate with mashed potatoes and collard greens. The star of the show was definitely the bacon burnt ends! Fatty, bouncy, crispy, and flavorful! Loved it so much. The brisket was pretty good too, but the burnt ends are the most memorable. I really liked my sides of collard greens and smoked beans too and would get those again. My husband had the ribs plate, and while I thought the ribs were good and tender, I preferred the brisket and burnt ends. Of the 3 bbq sauces (sweet, spicy, bold), the best one was the bold bbq sauce, which had kind of a honey mustard flavor to it. There was ample seating and service was nice. Being from California, I thought the prices were not bad at all. My only complaint is that they keep the AC so cold in there that the food was pretty cold by the time I ate it. Would have been so much better had it been warm.

Mac and cheese w/ brisket was pretty good. Added tomatoes and pickled onions. Wish the cheese had been browned more though, if they can do that.Somehow there was no line at lunch and we could order immediately.

Wright's came highly recommended, and I did not leave disappointed. If this was my local BBQ joint, I would be super happy. For me, Wright's ranks up in the conversation with some of the best BBQ I've ever had including Franklin's, Snow's, Joe's KC, Harp, and Chef J. There was a bit of a line when I went, but the line moved quickly and they weren't sold out of anything. The place is bigger than it looks from the outside, and our larger party was able to find a place to sit inside without much of a problem. I tried the brisket, bacon burnt ends, and the jalapeno cheddar sausage. The brisket was very tender without falling apart. The fat was rendered nicely. The rub was more of a Texas style heavy with black pepper. I really enjoyed it. I also liked the bacon burnt ends. I've had these other places, where they've been called pork belly burnt ends. I think that would be more accurate for the description of them, because to be bacon, the belly needs to be salt cured before being smoked. If it was, I didn't detect it. I thought they were incredible either way. Crispy and crunching while retaining moisture and the meat still had a nice chew to it. The fat was also rendered very nicely. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was high quality and had a nice snap to it. For my sides, I tried the potato salad and smoked beans. I thought both were delicious and paired nicely with the meal. I'd highly recommend coming here if you are ever in the area.

Great atmosphere friendly and prompt service.Meats were good, flavorful and tender.Mac n Cheese lacked flavor.Baked Beans were very good, great flavor with bacon and pieces of brisket.Egg Potato Salad was a bit mustardy but still had homemade flavor. Didn't care for the dill seasoning. Would've been better to use dill pickle.Greens were good although a tad under cooked. We could really use this true southern BBQ in Oregon!!Definitely will return if in the area!

Get The Rocket Man with Mac N Cheese. Ribs are fantastic. Collards are unique. The only thing I don't like here are the green beans. Too funky. You can't go wrong dining here.

Another Texan here .Great food. Had the brisket, pulled pork and Turkey. All really good, pulled pork was the star. The smoked beans are probably the best I've had. Really good. BBQ sauces are great as well. Great service too!

Food was great! I got an assortment of meats including brisket and hot sausage links. BUT, the burnt ends were the star! The sides are spectacular as well. Three different sauces; any of which will delight. Only place better is Snow's in Lexington, Texas. The people were great too! The line was out the door but moved along well. Limited indoor seating. Building is plain but comfortable.
