Matt may not be an art-connoisseur by all means, but he did happen to pass by this Asian Art Gallery to glance through the various exquisite arts, porcelains and sculpture of Asian History perfected by the greatest Asian painters and designers. This is a non-profit organization and admission is free. Various rooms have various types of artworks designed by the elite and talented artists. One room has a showcase of porcelains by many noted artist(s) others have hand painted porcelain representing different holidays. And another room is currently under construction and updated, which is the Oriental Room which has more dishes and arts allocated from Europe. There is also a magazine published monthly to give us update(s) on painting and fine arts designed by the gifted recipients, who puts a lot of effort in creating a priceless work for a Oklahoma Asian Art Gallery.

The WOCP Porcelain Art Museum has moved from 10th street to 2700 North Portland in Oklahoma City, OK. The new location is easy to find, a block west of I44, north of NW 23rd Street on the east side of Portland Avenue, and south of Will Rogers Park (which is on NW 36th Street and Portland). Open Monday thru Thursdays. But don't expect to see a sign outside yet. The exhibits inside are shaping up after the move. Amazing art, illuminous color with the translucent glazes use in porcelain art. Lovely 2 and 3 dimensional pieces. And the gift shop offers more than reasonable prices. They currently have a large selection of small covered and hinged boxes which are great for giving small jewelry. An engagement ring in a hand-painted porcelain box would be romantic. The museum is open for visitors now but some work is still on-going to get things ready for the Open House. There will be an Open House for the public Saturday Oct 22, 2016. Details are being planned. Oklahoma City is so lucky to have the World Organization of China Painters in our city. There is a chapter of WOCP in each state and in 9 foreign countries, with a total of 2,501 members. While you are visiting the museum don't miss the opportunity to take a stroll around nearby Will Rogers Park. The city has redone the gardens and the entire area, including the pond, is pretty and well maintained. Take a picnic lunch, make a day of it. The park is a good place to take a walk and see some of the flowers that artists have on display in the museum.
