Whitty Books

Whitty Books has been on my "to visit" list for some time. I love the quirkiness and friendliness here and the "makerspace" in the back. I found a lot of books to covet so I will be back!

I love this bookstore. Quirky, full of events, have tarot cards, friendly. What more can I say?

Me and my mom stumbled across this gem while we were walking around the area. The woman who owns and runs the store greets you with the best vibe. She also has the sweetest cutest dog to help you pick out your new read. Not only is the vibe incredible, the book collection is the best. She offers a such a unique diversity in books. I love the representation of black and brown books in her children's section and the LGBTQ+ books. There is something there for everyone. The store is set up in a way where it is easy to browse titles. This shop may help you step out of your comfort zone and get you reading something you might not normally pick up. Highly recommend this spot!

Whitty Books is owned by a couple of young Tulsans - Victoria and Julian. It's a small store with an evolving and eclectic collection of new and used books. Also vinyl and local art. They sponsor group book clubs and local bands. They are very helpful in ordering books for you. They are my book store.

What a lovely little independent bookstore! The collection was incredibly well-curated, and every shelf seemed to have something interesting that I hadn't seen before. Incredibly broad variety of sections for such a small bookstore, and the owner was quite friendly and had a number of solid recommendations. It's also nice to see a focus on some areas that don't get a lot of love at many other bookstores, like horror. And philosophy. Can't recommend highly enough, and I'm so glad to see such a thoughtfully-managed independent bookstore open in Tulsa.
