Uncle Jack's Bar & Grill

Love this place! Located on a corner in the middle of town, Uncle Jack's is a throw back to a bygone era, replete with original painted tile on the ceilings and turn-of-the-century decor. Food and service were excellent and we could not have been happier with our experience. Whether for lunch or dinner, give this place a try!!

Great food. Great staff. Great owners. Great games and entertainment. Great live music by Brian Leedy every Friday and most Saturday evenings. Breakfast/brunch on Saturday and Sunday is fantastic! Family friendly, sports bar restaurant all rolled into one! You'll love this place!

Tried the Philly Cheesesteak based on the server's recommendation. It was really good and would definitely order again. Good sweet potato (waffle) fries. Good service and a friendly atmosphere.

Good food and fun atmosphere. Went on a Wednesday night and they were playing music bingo. It made for a fun environment and the Chicken Jack Club Sandwich I ordered was seasoned to perfection and was moist and flavorful. The bacon was tender and thick and paired nicely with the seasoned chicken and pepper jack cheese.

Clean and comfortable atmosphere. The food was great. The Philly steak with cheddar cheese was phenomenal. My grandsons burger looked good. He mentioned it is the best he had. Battered fries were great and remained crunchy. Service by Robin was mpeccable. I recommend eating here when you are in Independence.

10/10 would recommend this place for delicious food and quality service! We walked in for Saturday dinner, bartender greeted us, there was live music, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and lively. The food was FANTASTIC and the portions are HUGE. The beer on tap was nice and cold, plus our server was very attentive and got us everything we needed. Would definitely come back for a great time!

Couldn't leave zero stars or I would. Brunch seriously was a notch below the "free" sub warmed breakfast you get at a holiday inn. McDonalds pancakes were seriously better. Butter was frozen and old lip stick was still on the coffee cup of Luke warm water flavored coffee. Biscuits and gravy were like cardboard- may have been - not sure. All served by a woman reeking of cigarettes and covered in dog hair. I take not pride in writing this as I had hopes of a good place to eat breakfast. Writing as an obligation to warn others. Keep your expectations low.

Stopped in for dinner on a Thursday night, easy parking, staff was welcoming and friendly, ordered the French dip with fries, it came out quick and was very good! Great place to catch a game on tv.

Great atmosphere, we had their fried mushrooms that they make from scratch and dipped them in their house made ranch dressing and it was delicious. Enjoyed the beer and the company that work there. They also have live music.

I had to be in Independence Kansas for work last week and had time for dinner. The hotel recommended a couple restaurants that included Uncle Jack's. As I was leaving a guest came up and said they had recently eaten there and highly recommended them. As soon as I went in I was created by the staff and asked to be seated at the bar to read a book and grab dinner. The server at the bar was so kind and saw the book asking if I just wanted to relax a bit. I ordered fried mushrooms as the hotel guest said they were fantastic. The best fried mushrooms ever, no debate necessary. Not sure how they do it but please don't change. I spent 30 minutes just relaxing and reading while taking in the decor and layout of the restaurant. Love the lighting, and floor layout, guest have plenty of room and the acoustics were very pleasant. For dinner I ordered a steak, green beans and baked potato. Again, the service was fantastic, food fantastic, and the whole vibe of the restaurant was really pleasant. Had the owner come o er and thank me for dining with them, this was a nice touch and meant a lot. I am having yo head back to the region next week and will make it a point to stay in Independence and dine at Uncle Jack's, it was that good!
