I Loved this place! I was looking to buy a new Violin bow! Everyone was very friendly, they took the time to remind me to take the time and find the right bow for me! This spoke volumes about the store! Because it wasn't just about selling me a violin bow, it was making sure that the bow fit me, my needs! Class act!! I will be back!

I love this place, I've been going here for a while now, ever since 6th grade and everyone here is so kind, I really recommend taking lessons here and getting repairs here, they really know what they're doing.

I travel through Tulsa fairly regularly in my profession as a classical violinist. Sometimes I need new strings or an adjustment or I've lost another mute or my bow needs rehaired or I just want to try a new chin rest I've seen online. A friend of mine recommended I stop by and see Jacob so I did. And boy was I glad I did. He's very knowledgeable about everything. Any question I throw at him he can not only answer, but explain in detail; how it used to be done and how it's done now or other ways it could be done and well, you get the idea. You'll get a great deal here on whatever you need. The shop has all the necessary items and if you need any repairs, Jacob's your man. You can also rent instruments there and Jacob can give you good teacher recommendations.

Fantastic shop for stringed instrument players. They were fantastic with helping my daughter begin looking at upgrades, and were so patient with helping her to determine what she wanted. They also did some great luthier work on her current violin, and explained everything clearly and concisely so you really understood everything you were paying for. This will definitely be our place to go for supplies, repairs and new instruments from now on, and I recommend others to check it out.

I have no real music training and had students start in the TPS instrumental program and later advancing into a couple of the area youth orchestras. (Violin, Viola and Cello). We started out with no knowledge and a 3/4 size violin that I had purchased (elsewhere); and only later did I learn it was only a step above pitiful (but I guess it was a start). With time as the students made progress we upgraded their instruments and somewhere along the way we found Jacob and Tulsa Strings. He has checked over, set-up and made needed repairs to all of our stringed instruments. This includes repairing loose seams, cracks, scratches, sound post adjustments and even a cracked neck. I have been very happy with all of my experiences at Tulsa Strings and recommend any parent who has a student in a strings program to go here first. You will save time, probably find good value in an instrument (over a wide budget range) and be done. It is about as simple as that. Having or helping a student learn a stringed instruments does cost some money, but having done all of it and now looking back it was one of the more rewarding things I did for my children.

If you have a violin that just doesn't sound right or you have an old stringed instrument that needs repaired, take it to Jacob at Tulsa Strings. He is a fine craftsman and his rates are quite reasonable. He'll also steer you away from doing stupid things like spending a bunch of money for instrument improvements that really won't help.Besides repair and restoration, Tulsa Strings offers a good collection of violins, violas cellos, and basses for sale or rent. The store also has a sufficient collection of replacement strings and necessary accessories. Some of Tulsa's best violinists and fiddlers have their instruments worked on here. Jacob recently restored a century-old neglected violin for me found among some family belongings. It plays great, sounds great, and looks great.
