Fun little spot, we have never had a bad experience here. Been several times just us and with friends. The outdoor area is really nice in warmer weather. The service has always been good and friendly

Right after my brother came out (late 1990's), he came home from college for the summer. My mom, trying to be involved and engaged in his life, asked him where he liked to go with his friends. He told her he liked to meet them at 'the park'. She lost her mind, lost her marbles. She thought he meant the actual outdoors park (centrally located, known for anonymous hookups - you know what I'm talking about). I'm sure a tearful monologue of 'why would you do that when your daddy and I have been so accepting' followed, and rightly so.Once my brother got her to chill the eff out, he got her to understand he meant The Park, reputable staple of the gay club scene. While they've changed a lot over the years, they remain a club where gay men reign supreme but (cool) straights are welcome. They have been an integral part of making our annual pride weekend the amazing wonderfulness that it is today. We went there this weekend when my brother and his husband were in town, and while we were bummed to learn they don't have dancers right now, they still had good drinks, nice bartenders, clean potties and great dance music. Needless to say, momma was relived all those years ago to know her baby was just out, having a fun time, meeting nice people. Since our dad offered to pick us up on Saturday night, I think it's safe to say we're all still thankful for a place like The Park where it's okay to just be yourself. xo

Upon first meeting someone in Phoenix, one of the first three questions someone will ask is "Where are you from?" I pretty much never hear that question anymore since moving to Oklahoma. In Arizona, it is assumed you come from somewhere else. In Oklahoma, it's assumed you spent your whole life here. Should that question arise, I tell people I moved from Phoenix. Once said, it's as if a cold, dark aura comes over the one who asked the question, as though I'm an interloper on unwelcoming soil. This can make Oklahoma City a lonely place for transplants. Luckily my social needs are much less than what most people require, though from time to time I like to go out and do things. The staff at The Park bucks the trend, and in my experience have been the most welcoming people. The drinks are good and it's a nice, cozy setting. The only thing I would change (and this could be said about all the bars) is the routine events. I believe it's mostly male dancers almost every night of the week, and other events sprinkled in here and there. I wish there were more in terms of entertainment like I used to have in Phoenix., like drag shows/drag bingo, theme nights, proms, manicures, tarot readers, or whatever. In any case, this is my favorite bar in the area.

I moved here to Oklahoma City from Houston 5 years ago and The Park quickly became my favorite gayborhood hangout. Friendly staff, diverse patrons, and hot go-go boys(well, most of the time). It's a fun place to have a few drinks during happy hour, and it's a fun place to dance your ass off to great DJs. Monday nights are really busy due to an underwear contest(in a shadow box ;)) hosted by one of the craziest drag queens I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The Park seems to be a staple destination for everyone on the "strip". If you are coming to OKC you should definately give The Park a go...you wont be disappointed.
