The Journey House is taking wonderful care of my family member during his last days. They are making him as comfortable as possible as well as guiding and helping the family through these unknown times. The facility is spotless and homey. The staff loving and caring. This place and the staff are a true blessings for us.

After reading the negative review of The Journey Home on yelp I felt compelled to write my own review. I understand and empathize with that person's pain, anger and frustration and I am sad that they feel that their loved one did not get proper care at The Journey Home. But our experience in 2019 was completely positive. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.Taking care of people at the end of life and taking care of their grieving family members takes really special people. Everyone we encountered at The Journey Home was compassionate and caring. The staff member who was with us during the final hours did not hover. She gave us time to be alone with Dad. Of course she had other guest to attend to but we never felt neglected. When the time came she gave her undivided attention. We were assured by her professionalism and moved by her compassion. She was our angel that night. The Journey Home is a wonderful option for those seeking a serene, peaceful location for their final days when dying at home is not an option. The generous donations of hundreds of families speaks volumes about their Journey Home experience.

I'm not sure what the previous reviewer experienced and I'm sorry for her loss but we had quite the opposite experience with TJH in 2019. They were there for our mother and our family in our hardest time. I have a renewed faith in humanity knowing there are people like these in the world. The girls who work through the night were wonderful and compassionate. Our entire family was able to stay right there 24/7 to be with our loved one. Food, coffee, absolutely everything was provided. They rely on donations so we have made it a point to do so.

The Journey Home's administrator is suppose to have been a hospice nurse, but does not appear to have any knowledge of hospice. The staff, disregarded the orders from her hospice, and over medicated her to the point she was knocked out and could not visit with family. My Mother appeared to resting comfortably, and Journey Home staff would medicate her anyway and against my wishes. The hospice tried extremely hard to advocate for my Mother, and Journey Home staff disregarded their instructions. I would not recommend anyone put their loved one at Journey Home, due to their inability to allow hospice to direct care. I certainly will not be donating to the Journey Home, but feel my money would be better spent donating to hospice instead. It is sad, that something that could be so beneficial to the Bartlesville Community is being misrepresented.
