The Grazing Table On Franklin

Came on a rainy winter Saturday for lunch. Walked in and sat ourselves, and our server came by quickly to get our drink orders. We also ordered the fried jalapeño appetizer.Our server quickly came back with our drinks and silverware and a few minutes later returned with the Jalapeños. The fried Jalapeños are sliced and breaded in house. They were crisp and spicy. She ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. While I ordered the fried chicken bites with cheesy grits & tots.When our order came out, they gave her corn instead of green beans but told her to keep them and promptly returned with her green beans.Her chicken fried steak had great flavor. Needed a dash more salt, but the breading stayed on as one expects. She did say the meat was slightly chewy and could be tenderize a little more. The mashed potatoes are skin on and made fresh. The corn and beans tasted like canned and were okay.My fried chicken bites reminded me of Rex's chicken bites. You can see in the pic that they don't skimp on their serving sizes. My chicken tasted great and the grits were definitely cheesy. Would definitely return if we're in the area.

This is the real deal small town country café. The only thing missing is a couple of dogs lying on the floor keeping warm by a big pot belly stove. Looks like a family ran operation. There was a couple finishing up their breakfast when we walked in, and an older fellow on the other side of the diner. Later on, locals, mostly working men dropping in for breakfast or early lunch as the morning progressed. There were a couple of fine looking tall stacked hamburgers delivered to a table in the other dining room. The cooks were doing prep work for lunch. Three big baskets of fresh cut potatoes were in queue over the fryer, awaiting the order to "drop the fries!"I had my usual: two medium, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuit and gravy with a cup of coffee. My wife had pancakes with bacon. When I ordered I asked for crispy bacon and crispy hashbrowns. The lady that took our order, asked "how crispy?' My reply "crispy crispy." She replies "I have your bacon ready." I was not disappointed; the crispy was delivered. Hashbrowns and bacon cooked the way I ordered it; the way I like it. Good biscuit and gravy, the eggs a little over cooked. My wife had the same crispy bacon and two hubcap sized pancakes. One was a meal. The first thing my wife and I noticed was the coffee. It was unusually perfect for diner /café coffee. Not tasteless and watered down. I asked about it. I was surprised. Nothing special. It was a well-known consumer brand. She said "I just make it properly strong enough." A great breakfast, a good cup of coffee and adequate friendly service. I have read excellent reports on the burgers and CFS.

We had the Cow meets chicken breakfast, which is CFS, two eggs, potatoes, and gravy. I had a biscuit with it. We also had a CFS dinner with mashed/gravy and brown beans. The food was good. My wife said her side items weren't cold, but not warm enough for her. She liked the CFS. The service was good and staff very friendly. They were out of fried pies, so we didn't get a chance to try those. Will definitely go back.

Drove two hours from okc. Called ahead to make sure they'd be open and had plenty of chicken fried steak... called again 30 minutes before we got there(heard they run out sometimes) they said both times they had plenty. Got there at 5pm on a Saturday, and the people in front of us got the last chicken fried steak. Won't ever go back

The food is great but wear a coat this time of year. It's so cold inside. We loved this place when it was Local Flavor and it's still a great place to eat.

Food is plentiful and delicious. The wait staff are kind, attentive and friendly. There is one particular waitress (don't know her name) that provides the absolute most stellar service above and beyond any waitress I have ever encountered. It's a family owned restaurant and the atmosphere reflects that. Don't be surprised if most people inside the restaurant know one another and are chatting with the owners through the food service window. My favorite dish is the salmon with a side salad and fried okra. I also really enjoy the philly cheesesteak.

Best pork I have had in a very long time. Real mashed potatoes with skins. Great service and good prices. Looked like they have daily specials.

Good food great service and good recommendations from staff. Had the chicken fried steak and it was awesome. Huge portion took home and became lunch the next day. Fried cheese curds were appetizer and they came out nice and lightly fried not soaking in oil.
