I really want to give these guys a great review, but I was not terribly impressed. We went on the Saturday after Valentine's Day (which was on Thursday) and it looked like they did not clean up after that day of festivities. Now we came just after noon and it was not busy at all. One other table was full. The service was super slow and neither Hans or I got a refill on our water. It took quite a while before the waiter came to give us our bill. The food was ok. Not too much to choose from, but what we got was pretty standard. The cost is about right. I honestly expected it to be a bit tidier in there since it is connected to the Mayo Hotel.

Hubby and I came here after a concert on a Saturday night, and they were pretty busy with mostly bar customers. However, there were a few still having dinner, and they have a late night menu specifically for this purpose. Service was extremely spotty, though. I mean, it was practically non-existent. We sat at our table being ignored for at least 15 minutes. I understand it was busy and it was late, but the kitchen was still open so it shouldn't have mattered. When we finally did get our food - firecracker shrimp and a burger - it was all very good. There was a snafu where they brought us out a pizza because our server thought we ordered it, which was strange, but it was corrected pretty quickly.I would go back to the Boiler Room during more normal business hours to give them another try. Perhaps late night like that just isn't their thing.

This restaurant is right across the street from my work. I don't get to go out to lunch often so this was an extra treat. My friend and i both had their AMAZING lobster bisque and half a chicken and avocado toasted sandwich. Loved it! Perfect amount of food. I will definitely go back and try the lobster mac and cheese that i have heard is to die for!

Enter Lori and the Mayo hotel lovely staff who saved the day after an unsuccessful meal at the Local Bison from where we came after two hours of waiting for food that never came. Lori listened to our dilemma (and complaints ) took our order, served our meal and had us out the door in thirty minutes to make our late entrance to a concert close by. What a lovely lady to make our problem hers and make sure we could get fed and on with our evening in a flash. Nice varied menu from nachos to steak and a full bar. My gumbo and Caesar salad was perfect.

The Boiler Room is okay, but just okay... lunch prices aren't bad (about $9-12 entrees), wait staff is friendly but slow, and the food is sub par but well presented. End of the day, you're paying for the aesthetic more than you are the food, which is why I give it two stars. For the moneyy, you can do better around the block and still have a perfectly nice environment. I ordered the chicken Alfredo. Kind of a hard dish to mess up in my opinion. The plus was that it tasted fresh. But the chicken was dry and the sauce (aside from being pretty tasteless) was soupy enough to qualify as a broth. If it were busy or the food had come fast, I'd say maybe it's just an off day but it's the second time it's come out that way and they rarely have a lunch rush from my experience. I guess now I know why! Will I go back? At some point in the hopes that they step it up... But not soon.

Good food. (Loved the mushroom appetizers!) Some very cool architectural details in this room in the historic Mayo Hotel. And 5-star shout outs to Ashley, Keitha, Dusti and Whitney. The ladies here who serve you are just the best! Kind, thoughtful, good-natured, good-humored and attentive. I love them...

Yuck! Food was bland and undercooked. Took forever to get my order take . I guess I should have trusted the other reviews.

My husband and I stayed at The Mayo for our anniversary. We decided to try The Boiler Room for dinner simply because of convenience. We both really enjoyed our meal, and the relatively relaxed atmosphere. Our biggest complaint is they were out of the thing my husband wanted to order - sirloin. Hubby ordered the pork mignon on mashed polenta, and I had the vegetarian curry and a caprese salad. I also ordered a couple margaritas, which were very good. Hubby had an angry orchard that he said should have served in a cold glass. We would go back.

My wife and I had a date night at The Boiler Room at The Mayo Hotel. It was busy but the service and food were excellent. I had the handmade pasta with shrimp. Superb. My wife had the Beef Wellington. Excellent. Our drinks were perfect. We loved the ambience of this iconic hotel. Very romantic. Great date night

Food is OK and personnel is very attentive. But it takes ages for the kitchen to produce meals. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, still I faced a 20-minute wait for a salad, and about a 55-minute wait for the entree.I was promised a discount to compensate for the wait, but my check came without a discount.
