Texlahoma BBQ

We decided to try Texlahoma as others consistently mention it as "best BBQ" when people ask for recs in the Edmond / OKC area. The daily specials menu brought us in - $6 for a pulled pork sandwich is a great throwback price, too. Overall we found the menu to be reasonably priced and we ended up getting a $6 sandwich to go for someone at home, and we tried several other items, pictured. I would definitely order the queso potato again. It looked simple but was bursting with flavor. The sliced brisket was extremely tender - notably more so than other BBQ joints. I liked the flavor of the baked beans, and we all agreed that the French fries were perfect. Service was helpful and enthusiastic. I prefer the counter ordering system they use here, but they did bring our food out, which I appreciate. The restaurant wasn't busy when we visited during the noon hour on a weekday, so I really hope they can gather enough business to stay open because the food was good. Everything was clean and there was a mix of tables and booths. The only downside was my husband wasn't a huge fan of the BBQ sauce, which had a sweet onion flavor. I liked it, though. He would've loved a spicier option without the onion. Another bonus is their meal specials are valid all day, not just at lunch time. So kids eat free all day on Mondays! We'll be back.

Stopped in today for BBQ lunch. The meat was ok, nothing special not a ton of flavor either.The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in making a decision.If you are looking for great bbq skip on by

Their baked potato was so tasty. The turkey was juicy and potato was huge! Maybe it was the temperature of the day or the room but potato got cold fast and my butter wouldn't melt but a quick zap in the micro fixed that. Will definitely have again.

Was in Edmond for business. Finished my job around noon and was about to head back to Tulsa when my hunger alarm went off. Saw this place and pulled. They offer drive through service but a bbq sandwich can be a little messy to eat in the car. So I went inside and ordered at the counter. Lots of Texicana adorns the walls giving a true Texas feel to the place. My sandwich was quite good with a side of beans and 3 sauces to choose from - hot, mild and sweet. The adjacent table had ribs and they looked outstanding. If I go back to Edmond I'd definitely go back.

I ordered 2 small sides a large tea and a large ice water. My total came to 12.99 which I thought seemed a little high since I just ordered a couple of sides. I had to ask for my receipt and I noticed that they charged me $3.00 for the large ice water....that's a little steep in my opinion for ice water!!! This was only my 2nd time here but it will be my last. The 1st time I ordered a Turkey sandwich which I didn't finish. The Turkey was dry and very little flavor.

UPDATE: I came back today to get some brisket. I ordered the 2 meat combo w/pulled pork, chopped brisket, street corn and potato salad.The food here is fucking delicious and easily in the running for my new favorite bbq spot . The street corn was full of flavor and very well done. I normally am picky with potato salad and I love their "mushy" potato salad. The pulled pork once again was very moist and juicy. The chopped brisket also, was very moist. I can't recommend this place enough. Cheers!

The meat was not tender. We had to get our own food, silverware, and drinks but a tip was asked for in the beginning while paying. What did I tip for? I was told we went to the wrong location but if there are multiple locations everything should be consistent. Ambiance? Super cold, empty, not welcoming.

I have never in my life had such horrible "BBQ" ever. I don't have the words to describe how awful it was. My brisket was soggy...yes, soggy and I'm pretty sure the sausage was something you buy at the grocery store in the hotdog section.

The food i had tonight at the Waterloo location was terrible. The cook and servers were cocky about their food and service was less than average. My biggest complaint is that I paid $11.58 at the location on Second St. versus the $11.91 at the Waterloo location for the same meal. (I bought both meals within 1 hour)I would definitely visit this restaurant again and pay a premium for their food because of the customer service and quality! The service that I got at the Second street location was second to none! They had amazing customer service!! The young gentleman that took my order was very polite and delightful!!

The food was great. We did not receive the correct food we ordered. One of the sandwiches we ordered did not come with a bun. We also didn't get a drink we ordered.
