Ted's Café Escondido

This is one of my favorite spots when visiting OKC. It is amazing how little has changed here over the last 20+ years...and that's a good thing. While the wait is still a pain point, the second you are seated you are met with delicious chips, salsa, and cheese dip. This is fallowed by homemade flour tortillas that just melt in your mouth. We shared the single order chicken fajitas, which was more than enough for two. Everything tasted amazing. Do they do anything out of the box or Michelin star worthy, probably not. But what they do is provide a wonderful meal that makes me look forward to my next visit.

I've never been a big fan of the name Ted's for a Mexican restaurant, however I was a big fan of their homemade tortillas and top-notch fajitas. Unfortunately, today was a different story. I did not get fresh homemade tortillas, which is incredibly disappointing because it's one of the main reasons I chose to get my Mexican food from them, not sure when they decided to take this from the menu or it was only for today, and the fajitas were very tough and chewy, which is almost never the case. To make things worse, I found a tortilla that appeared to have a bite taken out of it. I didn't notice until I had my last two tortillas left. Absolutely no bueno. 1 star. Maybe if they go back to their famous homemade tortillas, I might consider returning as a customer. Adios amigos.

Food is *always* good. The gold standard for Oklahoma Tex-Mex. Big GLO on the GLE ugh ugh

Not a bad spot for some chips and salsa, but there are plenty of better Mexican spots out there. The real win is the endless salsa and cheese dip.

Ted's is always consistently awesome. They actually train their staff, and the service is always great.

Mondays "KIDS EAT FREE" and that was such a treat for our group, 12 of us with 6 kids! Thankful for their courteous staff and tasty set-up.We were just in OKC for 28 hours and we're glad we chose to stop here and dine!Thanks for the hospitality and tasty food.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. This is the original Ted's location. The food is always delicious, the staff is consistently friendly and the service is generally pretty fast. The restaurant is pretty busy during typical lunch and dinner hours so I usually try to go before the rushes.

Stopped in around 9:30 last night and had steak fajitas which I shared with my Cousin. The plate was more than enough for the both of us and we even brought home leftovers. Staff was super friendly and helpful with my Celiacs dietary needs and made us fresh chips and corn tortillas. The steak was so tender and perfectly seasoned. The onions and bell peppers were so good just by themselves. I got a side salad with their Jalapeño Ranch which was really good too. Service was super fast.

One if our favorite restaurants when we lived here. Today was rather disappointing. Cheesy queso was lumpy, cold, and unappealing. My ground beef taco was tasteless and lacking much cheese. My chicken enchilada was tasty. My margarita was refreshing and thirst quenching. The end.

The food is excellent. Service is fast and friendly......accurate! Ambience could be better if it was less crowded.
