I do not knit. However, my wife does and I have picked up a few tidbits of knowledge from this. I have also been her companion on several visits to this store. From a non-knitters point of view, and experienced yarn store visitor, this is a nice place.I think the first time I visited, they were in the midst of remodeling or reorganizing their show area. It was still a very nice environment, and a pleasant store. We just went there over the weekend, and it was in tip-top shape! There is a decent amount of yarn on hand, and several tables and a couch to sit at. Lots of notions and accessories, as well as a small selection of clothing and wearable creations. The store does not carry 'all the yarns', but they have a very nice selection of yearn weights, colors and fibers. Considering how many boutique yarn dyers and craft spinning junkies there are online, it would be silly to try to carry them all. However, you should be able to find a nice skein or two that you really need to take home and introduce to the rest of your stash. Last, but not least, they have one of the nicest store restrooms I have ever used. 'The Loo' is small, but very clean, nicely decorated and easy to access. And clean, did I mention that? Anyway, if you are escorted to another yarn shop by your SO, this one is a good choice.

I am a currently a Houston knitter, and my hometown is Guthrie. I was visiting my mom, and we stopped by the store. It was in a quaint old building, and it was arranged beautifully. There was a decent selection, and a large area for knitters and classes. The staff was friendly and apologized for all of the new inventory on the floor. There were many projects on display with a QR code for the pattern location which I found very useful. I would definitely recommend this shop if you are in town or passing through.

Walking in the shop (which is nestled in the lovely historic section of Guthrie), you'll be impressed by the gorgeous presentation and extensive selection. SWAK has more Noro than you can shake a stick at and if you're looking for Rowan, they've got it. [Edited to Add: They no longer stock Noro Kureyon! This is upsetting.]While SWAK does offer online shopping from their website, visiting the store is the way to go since being able to see the colors of the yarn up close and feel the texture is half the fun. If you're looking for needles or hooks, they've got a nice selection and also a generous choice of books and gift items. Service can be a little iffy depending on what day you go- sometimes I've received outstanding help and other times the staff have seemed uninterested in answering any questions.Definitely worth the drive from Oklahoma City, especially if you plan on making an afternoon of visiting the neighboring antique shops and taking the city trolley tour.

Happy knitters were in a class at this shop. Not much inventory or variety for the size of their space. Located in an old historic downtown square building space, it seems they all come with that special musty dusty odor. I left here with only 1 pattern booklet because I simply couldn't find any yarn worthy of adding to the stash.

I so, so, so, so miss SWAK. I moved from Oklahoma to Seattle about a year ago. I finally have time to sit down and knit and spin, etc, so I went around North Seattle looking for a good yarn shop. There are plenty of small shops but there doesn't seem to be any to compare to SWAK. A huge selection and they are opening a store in Oklahoma City. It is worth stopping by if you knit, crochet, or do small weaving projects.

SWAK is a lovely yarn store worthy of multiple visits. There is a wide selection of yarn including Indie dyed and larger companies. It is always clean and when COVID isn't happening great in person events.
