Español, lea abajo Allen is a great associate. He took his time to really help me find what I needed. Once he saw his store didn't carry it he searchedOther Sutherland stores in the area and found what I needed. I wish all the hardware stores would be like this. I'll be back.

Wow, the last time I went to Sutherland's, it was only a lumberyard. There is that, plus furniture, clothing, home decor. I don't know if it is a regular thing, but they had fruit, veggies, and honey that all looked good! I don't know about pricing on lumbar yard products, but this place is definitely worth checking out for some of everything. All the employees were nice!

First I'll start by saying this is a solid chain DIY home projects. I am sure there are contractors who make purchases here for their work, but this isn't quite as large scale or mass volume as some of the other big box DIY/Pro stores. With that in mind, if you're in the neighborhood of this store, or close drive it may be worth it to check out. It does have a local feel and is often much less crowded, which for me when in a hurry is great! This location recently had a remodel done so it is much nicer on the inside but still doesn't feel clean or spic and span. I really don't mind, because I'm here for DIY project related material and often come in when dirty myself. They do cater to a more outdoorsy or country living crowd if you will. They have a lot of inside and outside décor for sale and it generally fits the bill of your famer/rancher/country type standard. This is Oklahoma so it does fit in after all! I do really appreciate how I can by dirt and mulch in bulk here! Have raised veggie boxes in my back yard and flower boxes up front, I buy mulch and dirt! It's way easier to get a bobcat load full in the bed of my truck versus bags.I have found that the selection they offer is usually what I need and at slightly cheaper rates than I find elsewhere. The staff here are generally helpful. On occasion I've seen only one cashier and a line 4 or 5 customers deep. That's not often the case, but it happens. For me overall this is a solid place for most items but can't rate it 5 stars because of a few small hang ups.

When I parked at Sutherland's on 21st St in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at 5pm today (9/21/15), I was a little apprehensive because there were only 4 cars in a very large lot. I looked in the cart area to see if there were electric wheelchairs (I have arthritis and my ankles are very painful sometimes by the end of the day as they were today), but all they had were push types, not even the kind that are self-push, but actually have to have someone else push from behind.I stopped at the customer service desk, I let them know I was disabled and couldn't walk far and asked where the flex hoses were that connect the bathroom faucet to the water supply connections. One of the 2 employees there said aisle 663 in the far back corner of the store. I repeated, 663. That's a strange aisle number. Are you sure? Yes, ma'am, he replied. I asked if someone could come show me, but the same one said, oh you won't have any trouble finding it. I walked the entire length of the very large warehouse, which took me 5-10 minutes, to discover that there was no aisle 663 or anything with 3 digits at all. I found plumbing after wandering around for another 10 minutes, but couldn't locate flex hoses. I walked all the way back to the store's entrance without seeing anyone who worked there, and asked again. By then there were several employees standing around talking in the customer service area (no wonder there was no one in the aisles to assist customers). I again informed them that I was disabled and could not keep walking back and forth every time I couldn't find something and asked if someone could come with me. They argued among themselves about whose turn it was as if I couldn't hear, but they were bound to know full well that I could (unless they assumed I was deaf as well as having difficulty walking), and then one of them finally said he would go. He found the hoses and left me there to figure out which one I needed. He did at least tell me the aisle number of my next item, door stops, prior to leaving. I never found the right size hose (20" long with 3/4 " connector). I went to the aisle where he said to find door stops. They were not where he said they were. I had to go all the way to the front of the store again to find someone to ask. I encountered the same young man, and again I identified myself as being disabled and couldn't walk far and that I had already walked way too far today and walking back and forth in the store was making matters worse. He gave me a different aisle number. I went, and again they weren't there. I returned to the front. He said, I realized right after you left that I told you wrong. (I don't know why he didn't bother to come tell me; I was walking so slowly that he could have caught up to me quickly.) This time I managed to get him to come with me. He went to an area where he thought they were, but they were not. I followed him around to several aisles before he finally found the kind that you stick under an open door to prop it open. When I said I needed the hardware kind that you screw into the wall or a door to prevent the doorknob from breaking through the sheetrock, he said, "Oh, we don't carry that kind." (What kind of hardware store doesn't carry doorstops?) I gave up on trying to find anything that was on the rest of my list; although, I happened to run across one item I planned to buy elsewhere and t-shirts on deep discount for my sons. I was in the store a total of 1 hour and 15 min.I told the young lady at the register that I'd like to speak to a manager, and she said she'd contact one and then didn't. I then went to my car and tried to call the manager of the store. I was put on hold for 15 min by the time I hung up. Needless to say, I will never return to Sutherland's.If they want to get a faithful customer base, 3 things absolutely have to change. First, they need to have more employees helping customers, and those employees need to be willing to accompany the customer, especially when the customer asks them to or when the customer identifies himself as disabled. Second, they need to train ALL of their employees on where everything is, and especially what aisle numbers exist and where those are. Third, it would be great if they purchased an electric wheelchair or two.

I would like to bring to light my visit today with your 21st St location....at 2pm Wednesday 10/3/18 I was in the store to purchase a few items, when I found the extension cords I was looking for, the tag on the shelf listed them as 100' outdoor extension cords for 16.99... i checked the price on the scanned located directly at the end of this row and it showed a price of 24.99.. I went back and doubled checked to make sure the price listed was 16.99 and I again verified the description to match the item. we pressed the call for help, and a few moments later "Jerry" with his arm in a sling walks up and says "yea"...... so I explained what my issue was and his reply was " sometimes things get moved" I said, well the item and description are the same, His reply " I dont see where it says that".. and I said, I will be happy to read it for you, and he said " Look, no need to be a SMART ASS" I said never mind, I will just go to Lowes, to that he reached down and rips the tag off the shelf. I said better yet, i need to speak to a manager, his reply was "Good, I'll with you".... as I started to the front, he says this guy over here... "Eric Villareal" was what I was told his name was... I explained what had happend, and "Jerry" responds with DONT LIE ON ME.... Eric then says well I will honer this price... not a single im sorry, for the employee or anything.. THIS IS NOT HOW A CUSTOMER should be treated.. The guy at the service desk was very nice as I asked him for the names of the two I had spoken with.... For a store that only had 3 cars in the parking lot, this is not good, i will be re posting this everywhere I get, and will be telling everyone i know of what happened... and also, Lowes was more then happy for me spend my $75.00 with them on the exact items i had in my cart in your store.

ok, I had excellent service when I purchased some fencing material. everyone treated me great. The young African American, (only referenced here so he can get credit but wish I could remember his name) was so kind and professional. I saw a bad review on Yelp for this store and I said, one experience does not a review make.

I have been buying bundles of firewood for the last 3 years here and tonight is my last. I will no longer recommend. The firewood pallet was disastrous, splintered unbundled wood spilling all over, what was bundled was thin strips of kindling for 5.99 a bundle. Ridiculous, they use to be better. The wood was nice splits, about 7 or so to a bundle. I purchased 5 bundles for 30 bucks ( I use my Veterans discount) I'm lucky to get 4 hours of fire out of them. I mentioned this to the clerk ( some 16 year old long haired brunette girl) her first nasty response was don't buy it if you don't like it.. she was rude and ugly spirited. Do better Sutherland.. you're such a disappointment. I won't recommend. I hope you go out of business at this point. It would serve you to do so. Also, store was void of any customers.. I can see why now. Fellow shoppers looking for nice wood kiln dried and reasonable.. Winco or Reasors.

They couldn't sell me bulk mulch because there wasn't anybody there that was able to use the skid loader. What is the point of having a product in your lot that you can't load into my trailer? Not to mention the terrible customer service I've experienced 2/3 visits. During the first visit, the skid loader was down, so even though they had the personal to use it, they couldn't load my mulch then either. For the second visit, the computers were down and I only had $250 cash when I needed to make a $500 purchase with a company card. Luckily I was able to use my own cash to get half of what I needed. I was willing to leave my credit card with a manager, but they still wouldn't budge. I understand policies, but what better collateral is there than a company credit card? Anyways, don't come here unless you absolutely have to.

Very easy to find what you're looking for, and excellent customer service. They also carry some of the more obscure a/c filters that you have to order from other stores.
