Stillwater Family YMCA

The Stillwater YMCA has gone through extensive renovations over the past year and a half. They were recently taken over by the Greater Oklahoma City YMCA. This organization runs many of the YMCAs outside of Oklahoma City including the Mitch Park YMCA in Edmond. This has really given the Stillwater Family YMCA more structure and programming.The pool has been completely overhauled, new classes are being offered and all of the locker rooms have been remodeled.Childcare is available during certain hours so that parents can work out without expensive babysitters. The facility has added a youth room with AirHockey, Foos ball and other activities that provide fun.A new spin room provides classes and a fun and colorful setting. Children's sports have been greatly reduced in price often only requiring a fee for the Jersey required if you are a member.The professionalism of the staff has greatly increased. There are many new employees who are dressed and YMCA apparel, where are name tags, and I am truly impressed with the lifeguards on staff.If you didn't like the Y before 2018, I suggest that you give it a second chance. There have been many great changes and I am please to be a member of the organization.

I was very unimpressed with this facility. The pool. It looks like it's in bad repair. When I went to tour the facility two treadmills were broken and only one was working properly. The free weights are very skimpy.The parking lot is small but decent. But the most disturbing thing was the way the employee you treated me. He treated me like I was stupid. He even asked if I had my husband's permission to be there. Which was really weird. He asked if I had kids which is understandable if he's trying to sell me on kids programs, but then he gave me weird looks and made me feel guilty when I told him I didn't. Total bad vibes from this place.

I come here to workout. Its nice and they have a lot of machine to use for working out ita a bit small

This place is a mess! They have nice facilities and equipment (after the remodeling in 2017), but the customer service is absolutely horrible!!! They employ bunch of irresponsible kids who don't show up for work when they are scheduled to be here (lifeguards). They are lazy, always on their phones, texting, facebooking, never paying any attention to anyone. Due to staffing issues the pool gets closed every 2 hours due to their insurance policy. So if you happen to swim laps, you are rudely interrupted and asked to leave so the lifeguard can have a 15 minutes break every 2 hours. Never mind the fact that these guards leave the pool area as they pleased. Big disappointment. I will be cancelling my membership and go sign up with OSU Rec Center.

I love the Stillwater Y. It has met all my needs. The staff is great as is the facility.

The employees are mediocre at best. I got reprimanded for trying to use the water aerobics dumbells and noodles which was with all the other equipment that is open to the public (since it is not locked up or hidden or otherwise indicated as not open for public use) for water aerobics. The employee who was filling in for the lifeguard during his bathroom break, who was not in lifeguard attire, specifically told me to put them all back because "they aren't for playing with, they are for the old folks water aerobics class." I am a 20 year old adult and I do believe this was uncalled for since we were going to do water aerobics with them. I have had a membership for years with no trouble at the Edmond locations, so it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to be treated in such a way by an employee the same age as me with no managerial rights or reasons telling me I can't use clearly accessible water aerobics tools for water aerobics. Despite the customer service, the locker rooms are nice, the gym space is great, and the salt water pool is awesome.

It's a decent place but equipment is out dated andStarting to wear. Cleanliness is at best ok. OneDay they will upgrade the rest and not just the pool.

We were in town for the Mid South event. We are from New York and able to use our nationwide membership! Everyone was so incredibly friendly and welcoming and the showers were so clean! Thank you for being so amazing! Coming from a fellow YMCA employee, you guys rocks!!

Five stars The pool is great and the workout area is awesome They also have a really nice basketball court and are rarely busy

I called to ask and was told by the front desk the pool was chlorinated, ***not salt-water***. (See an older review) A big game-changer for me and maybe others as well? Given the historic issues with a chlorinated building, changing over the system when renovating would have made great sense. Disappointed...
