I would like to preface this by saying we experienced this wine and it's purveyors at the Tulsa State Fair and not the Stroud location. That being said, the wine was incredible! We tasted 8-10 different types, and the individual serving us was quite knowledgeable of the styles, helped us match our tastes, and really made it an experience. The Moscato was by far our favorite, and had a beautiful flavor. They also explained how it is made, sourced, and even told us about their upcoming location change. We are excited to go try their new place at Monkey Island when it comes available.

This is a cute winery. It's in an old, historic church and has the original windows, floors, and walls. April is the new owner and just bought it. Sure hoping to get the carpet pulled up and fix the floors which definitely sag. I tried three of the wines. I bought a glass of the MallowDramatic, which is a sweet moscato (no bubbles) that tastes like marshmallows. As hot as it is (and yes, even inside it was hot) a sweet wine was so apropos. I really liked the "Accents" which is a Cynthiana grapes, which are usually used for a rich full-bodied wine (and is predominantly from the Ozark region) such as a Cabernet, but in this case I wouldn't say it was a Cabernet, but it is a full-bodied and expressively earthy wine with notes of tobacco and tart cherries. The description says oak, but that's not what I was tasting. I am drinking a glass now at home on my couch (yes I bought a bottle) and I once again tasted it to describe. It definitely paired well with a sweet chocolate treat. All their wines are $24.00.

There used to be a couple (or more) wineries in Stroud. I think StableRidge is the last holdout. I don't know how much of a true vineyard it is; we were told that a lot of the juice is trucked in but they do try to by locally and regionally. That the tasting room is held in a historic Catholic church is a plus for this business. The wine pourer when we were there was very friendly and engaging. She told us the history of the building when asked. Probably our biggest surprise was Jeremiah's Red. (You know he did have some mighty fine wine!) It was a fruity, peppery blend with a slight bight at the end and would be a great pairing with chocolate. This is definitely a must-do stop if you're on 66 OR if you just want to get off the turnpike for a breather.

Very quiet cozy shop! The wine is very good, and the lady working there was very nice. The wine-a-rita was fantastic and worth the drive alone.I think the place could use a little refresher, it was kind of a dull dusty environment, but you can't argue with their product!!Keep your expectations in line and you'll have a good short visit!

Very quaint little place off Route 66. The owner was fantastic, very friendly, very sweet. I tasted several different kinds of wine and ended up buying two bottles. One was the Soleil, which I have never had a lemon flavored wine taste so good before and a bottle of wild thing just for the label, because that's how I roll. It's nice to know there are people in the smaller communities that are not going to let big corporations ruin their American Dream. Keep up the good work.

Stable Ridge winery is a cute little wine shop that is filled to the rim with wine merchandise for sale. While I do enjoy wine trinkets, the sheer number distracted from what should be the focus of a winery, the wines. The wines were decent and the service was very friendly. The highlight was the Port, which was nicely balanced. A nice stop on a tour of OK wineries.

Quaint little winery just off Highway 66 in Stroud, OK. A little tuck-away place with vineyards. My parents and I stopped by for a quick wine-tasting while we decided to do a bit of Route 66 travel. When you walk in the door, you'll find a trove of souvenirs and gifts. We tried the Centennial White, a light sweet white wine. The harmony red, a light sweet red blend. My dad's favorite is their famous Jeremiah red made with blackberries. We bought two bottles of those, the centennial red and the harmony red. If you're traveling the Route 66 route along the I-44 corridor, this is definitely worth stopping by.

So one of the things you're "supposed" to do because you appreciate local stuff is tour historic Route 66. Since it's such an easy thing to do, we managed to avoid it for something like five years after we moved out here. Once we did hit the road one weekend, our initial impressions seemed to validate our decision to procrastinate: Really? A round barn? But like most of the best things in traveling, Stable Ridge Winery was an unplanned stop that made the whole thing worth a day's run up to Tulsa. The fact that the winery is a former Catholic church is most excellent, the Sangiovese is so good I'm going to make an hour-plus drive soon simply to get some more, and the friendly folks there were relatively un-smug as they politely demonstrated that they know more about wine than I will ever know. The resulting spontaneous picnic in Stroud with local cheese and wine is something I will remember for a long time. Huzzah for the little things.
