Son's Charburgers

I would not be surprised to find out that somewhere in the Oklahoma Historical Society archives, there is a picture of settlers in covered wagons parked in front of Son's, eating hamburgers and fries. Onion rings had not been invented back then. You don't need carbon dating to judge the age of the building. The design, the weathered wood trim and the faded discolored paint date the building somewhere between pre-Sonic era, possibly even pre-Dairy Queen. It had to be the hang out in Wagoner, in its day. It appears to be a family owned and operated business. My wife and I have grabbed burgers here several times over the past ten years. Nothings has changed. The flame still flares up on the grill when the cook flips the burger, confirming the char flavor will be present as advertised. It is a one-man kitchen, so your order may take a few minutes if they are busy. Good charburgers and onion rings. Today my wife had a half order of 3-way. The chili is very mild, lots of cheese and fresh chopped onions decorated the big bowl of food. Skip Sonic and McDonald's. Have a home town Son's Charburger instead.

This is the first time getting to come to Wagoner to try this burger location. I've had these burgers before and thought that they were outstanding. They char their burgers and toast the buns to perfection. The cherry limeade was a bit tart for my liking. The onion rings were tasty. When we got there it was late so there wasn't anyone in the restaurant eating it was mostly drive thru traffic. The staff were friendly and fast. For a nice charburger this is the place to go.

Great little burger spot! Finally got around to trying this spot since moving to the area last Summer. I can see why this place has such a long history. Very good burgers! Close to Five Guys, if you need a reference, but with that char flavor from being cooked over an open flame. Onion rings and tots were both spot on and cooked perfectly. Don't let the old looks of the building scare you away, you gotta try it!

Great burger joint. Very nostalgic experience and very friendly staff. The burgers are flame charred and have a perfect amount of smokiness

My son and I were out for a drive and a burger the other day, and my fellow Yelpers were once again right on yet another one (mind you that I would probably give this 4.5 stars if I could). This is a tiny place, but has a quick and convenient drive thru. Our customer interactions were short, but also sweet (and who doesn't like that, right?)Burger was reminiscent of the good parts of a BK Wopr. Stay with me for a second... what I mean is that it was a distinctly flame broiled flavor, when other char broiled places lack that many times. And, the roll was similar, except very fresh and soft, and the toppings similar, except fresher tasting. It's just a much better very of a fast food burger, which seems to be the exact intention of this place. So, great job! Love the easy customization, of a simple menu (single, double, triple, etc). It was a quick and tasty experience!Bonus: the jalapeño cheese bites seem to be ordered from Cisco or something like that, but they are dang good!

Hot food, friendly smile, and CLEAN place. Really recommend. Big portions. From out of town, will come back when visiting again.
