If you have a larger dog and limited space, this is a great place to take your (stinky) pup to freshen up. My only concern is that we didn't have to show proof of vaccinations - while the dogs don't necessarily interact, there are communal spaces and we have a pup at home who is a little more vulnerable. Something to keep in mind during doggie flu season.

Love this place and the staff! My dogs smell amazing even after weeks of washing them and they play like crazy. This is my spot for sure! Also so affordable!

My dog was over brushed to point of bruising, cutting, and scabbing from de-shedding wash service at Sloppy Dog Wash on South Peoria. I brought my dog in for grooming around noon on Sunday, May 9th, 2021 for the first time to this facility on South Peoria. The shift manager, Michelle, sold me on the deshedding package to assist my dog in transitioning with the spring season. When I picked up my dog later that afternoon, she wasn't acting normal and unfortunately the damage was not immediate evident through her thick fur. When we returned home, she spent the rest of the day mostly hiding under my bed. The next day she also spent hiding and did not want to eat her food. This behavior continued through Tuesday night when I tried to pet her along her back and she yelped really loud as if in serious pain. I took her to our regular vet, and they confirmed the touch sensitivity, when she tried to touch my dog along her back, she yelped very loudly again in serious pain. My vet prescribed a pain medication and anti-inflammatory to treat the sensitive area. Two days later, after she had time to heal and allowed me to pet her again, upon closer inspection I could really see the dried blood and scabbing from the cuts she received by the groomer using a furminator brush on my dog. I immediately set another appointment with my vet to inspect the wounds. Our vet prescribed additional medication, an antibiotic, to help the wounds heal and prevent infection. I left the veterinary office and went straight to this facility on South Peoria to show them what had been done to my dog and ensure this did not happen again. When I arrived and asked to speak to a manager, Michelle, who said she was the shift manager, asked what happened and when I explained the situation, she confirmed it must have been Elizabeth who groomed my dog on Sunday. During our conversation, Michelle said 'yeah I can see the scabs and it looks like dried blood' and that the trauma may have occurred due to the 'sharp teeth on the furminator brush'. Another young male groomer who had been listening to the conversation agreed and said, 'yeah you have to be really careful with the furminator, I cut myself on it all the time'. Michelle offered to call her manager, Cheryl and disappeared into the backroom to take the call. I asked for a direct phone number or email to the facility manager but Michelle refused and said she could only take my information but was not sure when Cheryl would be able to call me. When I pressed again for direct contact information, she said she could only offer this general email '[email protected]' but that Cheryl would receive that email directly. Not only did I pay $78, including tip for the service, but I have also now paid $220.18 to the vet for examination and medications. The manager and owners have yet to respond to my email regarding the trauma my dog has endured. I emailed again several days later including additional photos of the healing including additional hair loss down to her skin. Their lack of response indicates to me that they have little interest or concern in the welfare of their customer's pets and it's no wonder your employees lack the proper training to conduct the services they offer without causing harm. I have reported this incident to the Better Business Bureau in hopes my complaint will be taken seriously and no one else's pet will be harmed. If a resolution is not able to be made with them I will be taking this issue to small claims court.

Absolutely love the self service/wash. They provide some brushes and shampoo to make your job easier! Only thing is, washing the dogs in a raised tub can be a bit difficult, but it sure minimizes mess! The associates were super friendly and nice! Definitely coming back in the future!

I normally love the sloppy dog wash on Peoria. In the past I have done the basic wash that you can do on your own. I checked their hours and saw that they are open until 6:00 p.m. I work an 8-5 job, so I was grateful for the extra evening hour. I ran home after work and grabbed my dog, arriving at the sloppy dog wash at 5:35. When I arrived I was turned away and told they were closing in 20 minutes so they weren't allowing any more customers. Such a bummer! Especially because it would have taken no longer than 20 minutes for me to bathe my dog. I would totally understand if they only took appointments; however, when you are also a walk-in facility, your services should be available until the time you actually close. Wish there was better customer service! Or maybe change the hours online to show they close at 5:30? Anyway, I won't be coming anymore :(

I came in to just use the bathtub because I brought my own products to use on my dog, and they charged me $22. It was honestly a waste of money and I won't come back to this place.

I prepaid for the 5 washes for our dog but because I don't have the "card" they will not honor it even though I have the receipt. I asked for a corporate number and was told they don't have one as they are locally owned. I will never return to this business. They took me for $75.00.

Today was a really unprofessional and not so pleasant experience. We took our 5 month old puppy into what would've been her first groomer experience. We made this appointment 2 weeks prior and they seemed pretty professional over the phone while making the appointment. When we arrived today we were about 3 minutes late due to traffic and I called to inform them and they said it would be perfectly fine. When checking in our puppy the lady at the check in/out counter was very aloof and did not seem to know exactly what was going on with handling our dogs hand-off that initially made things kind of "strange." The groomer came out to meet our dog and apparently she was in the midst of a groom because she had hair all over her which (I understand it's a "groomers") she didn't seem to listen very well about the instructions on the cut we desired for our dog she was more interested in what my toddler was saying. We were able to walk our dog back to where they kennel until the actual groom takes place. The kennels were raggedy and they didn't seem to really have a warm welcoming for our dog. It was just like "Welp, this is where she'll be, she'll be fine .. see ya later type deal" After hesitantly dropping our dog off at the appointed time in return they initially had given me an estimate of 2 hours at max from drop-off. So, two hours goes by and then three and I had not received a text or phone call so I called them. They then told me that she hasn't been started that the dogs ahead of her took longer than excepted (blah blah blah) and just was very cold and non compassionate at the fact this was our fist time, she is a puppy, she is in a kennel where other dogs have been healed for over three hours without water or accessibility to relieve herself if needed. My biggest concern was my dog of course and my issue is the unprofessionalism and non communication. We went and picked our dog up and naturally I'm upset but handled myself really well considering the way they handled us. The cashier was again cold and rude. She went to the back and I could literally see her talking to the groomer, the groomer then went and got our puppy she didn't even place her harness or leash on properly it wasn't even completely on and she didn't speak, no explanation, no apology, NO NOTHING! Just basically rudely passed off the leash to me and walked off! So after that we left! Without anything further said. I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this place of business to anyone just from our first time terrible experience. Others may like it and have great experiences but we did not!
