Honduran food. Ever tried it? If not, you should. This ain't Mexican food. Not even close. It's plantains, cabbage, beans, corn, yucca, tasty pickled purple onions, and on every meal, that I have tried so far, mayonnaise, lots and lots of mayonnaise. Garlic is a prominent seasoning. Fried everything. The food is rich, flavorful not dominated with chili powder and comino like Mexican food. An adventure for your palate.Chips and salsa come with the meal. Good salsa, and ask for the hot stuff. No English is spoken here. Ask for salsa picante. I had what I always gravitate to, Pollo Frito w/Pechuga. The large chicken white meat quarter, well-seasoned with garlic, deep fried extra crispy, on a plate full of tajadas (fried plantains), covered in a haystack of shredded cabbage and all generously covered with a spicy mayo blended sauce. The chicken was perfect, the fried plantains were exceptional. Just the way I love them, thin and crispy. My wife had a new menu item (according to the menu). The fried shrimp. It came with the perfect tajadas, seasoned rice and bean mix, a small salad, big fried shrimp and a mayo based dipping sauce. She was very pleased with the meal, especially the big golden fried shrimp. The restaurant is nothing fancy. No English spoken, but the menu is in English. It was a bit of a struggle to communicate our request for a couple of diet Cokes. It all worked out though. The food was delicious. I know very little about Honduran food. My goal here was to make you think I do. Did it work?Try Honduran.

The service was pretty good, though our sweet waitress was having a hard time understanding us. We ordered the tilapia, seafood soup and quesadilla. We felt the tilapia was bland, and the soup was good, but none of the dishes were enough to invite us back. The presentation of our dishes were "nice," but we were hoping for our taste buds to be aroused. The service was good, the atmosphere was casual....and that was it!!!

Authentic Third World experience. I came in on a Sunday after Thrifting and shopping at the local Mexican market. I enjoyed the fried chicken platter. It was excellent. The ambience is definitely low-key and you could come in here wearing your grandmothers hair rollers, and sweatpants and be overdressed, however the food was exceptional.

Service was great, server was really friendly Never had Honduran food before so I will be easy on this review. I had the marinara seafood soup, we had ceviche, pupusas, and a few other things. Watch your utensils before you dig in!!! I was served utensils that was dirty, really really dirty!!! I requested another set bc yea Menus were old and need to be updated asap, they were old and filthy aswell. Why did I still give this restaurant 4 stars? We'll look at the pictures food p*rn. *Flavor may very by individual--- it was okay to me and "just okay" for my husband. But we may go back one day, but not anytime soon!

Sin Fronteras is a Honduran restaurant that's not too big. Supposedly, the have Mexican food as well but the emphasis is on Honduran food. The food is unique which is the main attractive feature for me. You would not be able to find these foods elsewhere. Soda drinks being served in a glass bottle which just taste much better than fountain drinks. I had the fried chicken and I can tell you what came out looks completely different than fried chicken. The chicken is underneath thinly sliced cabbage and pickled onions and on top of fried plantains. The chicken is bone in though making it more than finger food which can be quite messy for office attire. I feel like having the option for chicken tenders would be great. The restaurant itself is not too busy as I came in on a weekend during lunch time. There was only one server and she was doing a good job. I am not sure how long it has been opened but another table sitting next to me was also a first timer.

This is such a great restaurant! They used to be further north on Peoria but the new location (where Supermercado Morelos is) is much more spacious. Their menu is so extensive, you can really get a feel for the variety that Honduran food has. A typical meal in Honduras usually includes rice, beans, tortillas, some kind of grilled meat such as chicken, pork or beef, and a salad. You might be wondering... What's the biggest difference between Mexican food and food from Honduras? There are similarities of course, but as a native Mexican, I can tell you, they are different! Honduran food is usually not as spicy by default although they do have some pretty hot optional chili sauce. A lot more plantains and yuca are used as staples. Cilantro is rarely used. Malanga (Same was Hawaiian Taro or Kalo) is popular and served like potato in thick slices. You can't go wrong with trying the baleadas (traditional four tortilla with cheese, avocado, beans and other fillings of your choice) or pupusas (a thick tortilla made of grilled pork, beans and cheese). You might wonder what the difference is between pupusas and Mexican gorditas....pupusas are stuffed with the filling before cooking while gorditas and arepas (Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru) are stuffed after cooking. My favorite pupusas are the plain cheese or beans ones. I also have to say that their Mexican menu is on point. Their tacos are only $1.50 each and their pollo guisado is BOMB! If you've been to Las Tres Fronteras on 21st and Memorial, this is their sister restaurant. Both highly recommended!

Sin fronteras is an amazing little place, food is delicious and authentic. We had the popusas with pork (chicharron) and cheese. Also got one just made of cheese. The service was also amazing we felt very welcomed. Love the family vibes. Also they were playing tropical music and depictions of jungles on one of the big tv screens. One of the most refreshing things was the passion fruit water, perfect for hot summer days. This is definitely one of our favorite little places. One more thing the place is very affordable.
