Roy's Fried Chicken

A Coweta institution, I've been eating Roy's since I was a kid (back when the building was a lot smaller).With lines around the drive a common occurrence you know this is a local go-to spot. But don't worry, the menu is limited and you'll move fast.Staff are probably the nicest kids in town.Anyway, step back into the golden age of fried chicken joints and grab some Roy's!

I was in Coweta to pick strawberries. Afterward, I stopped by Roy's Fried Chicken for a bite due to high recommendations. Apparently, this chicken place is popular around that area. One good thing about Roy's Fried Chicken is the quantity of their dinner entrees. The dinner box came with 3 pieces of fried chicken, 2 sides, and 2 dinner rolls, a lot of food. The mashed potato and gravy and cold slaw were great. I would like the dinner rolls to be warmer as they were cold. And the fried chicken? They were okay. To call them the best fried chicken would just be plain wrong. They were not even close to being the best fried chicken. The batter was just too thick. I felt like I was eating the batter from fried chicken bought at a supermarket, a little hard and thick. Roy's Fried Chicken is fast food, similar to Church's and Popeyes. Service is quick and the place operates like a fast food fried chicken franchise. Not sure if it has lost some values as a result, but what I had today was just slightly above average, 3.5 stars.

I recently had the pleasure of trying Roy's Fried Chicken and let me tell you, it was a delicious experience. The chicken chunks were perfectly seasoned and fried to crispy perfection. Each bite was juicy and flavorful, making it hard to resist going back for seconds.The mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery, the perfect complement to the crispy chicken. And let's not forget about the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The warm, gooey cobbler paired with the cold, creamy ice cream was a match made in dessert heaven.Overall, Roy's Fried Chicken exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be returning for more. If you're in the mood for some delicious comfort food, I highly recommend giving Roy's a try. You won't be disappointed.I loved the country decor and the barn feel plus all the positive signs and scriptures gave me all the good feels. Super clean and service was impeccable!!!

Update: tonight I tried the chicken fried steak at the Jenks location. It was not flavorful. Pretty bland. I can't put my finger on it but there is just something missing. We also got 4 piece boneless chunk snack and those were dry like the first time. I had high hopes for this place because I love fried chicken! Like looove it. I still want to go back and try the bone in chicken but not sure now.

I used to absolutely love roys. But since ive been back in town, ive never had hot food. Service is good but when i asked about hot food they basically said too bad. Roys chicken is a relaxing place to go eat. Im sad i dont absolutely love this place anymore.

It's ok. Nothing is bad but nothing is outstanding. Restaurant was very clean and service was good.

Best fast food fried chicken I've had in Oklahoma! The chicken comes out hot, fresh, and flavorful. Even when the drive thru line is long, the line moves quickly and the staff are kind, courteous, and professional. The side options don't quite match the quality of the chicken; they could be much better but they're not bad for the price! From my experience, the Coweta location is better and slightly cheaper than the Jenks location.

Great local food and drinks. This place has amazing wings and the chicken is some of the best around.

First time here, and the server basically called me a liar when I requested the missing mashed potatoes and gravy. Even after showing her the ticket, she wanted to argue. That always kills a meal.The chunks were a bit dry but good, the dark pieces were a bit greasy, but the wedges, mashed with gravy and the slaw were really good.Probably won't be back. She was gracious enough to let me know she wouldn't charge me for the extra wedges she gave us instead of the mashed potatoes and gravy that we ordered.

The food is always great. Their gravy is my favorite out of anywhere else. I've had friends come from out of town and they loved Roy's too.
