Do not recommend this restaurant whatsoever. The waitress we had had no idea what anything on the menu is and when asked she said "i'm not really sure" when the meal came out two plates that should have had the same sauce on them looked completely different and when asked she said I don't know what sauce is supposed to be on yours but let me look at the menu and see even though we already knew they should have been the same. When asked if this mystery sauce had any dairy in it she said it shouldn't instead of asking the cook/chef. So I am not writing this review from the restroom because whatever they gave me has made me violently ill.

Few places to eat a delicious dinner in this town on a Sunday evening, so we settled on Roma's hoping to enjoy a robust Italian meal. The server led us to a small booth in the corner where we thought we'd have an intimate dining experience. Within minutes, the long table adjacent to us filled with a party of about 14 people with children who weren't quiet--they were having fun. So we moved to another spot farther away from the crowd. We asked our server for the wine menu (what is Italian food without a hearty glass of wine), and she referred us to the card on the table in a plastic stand...$5 a glass for the house brands. We inquired about the brand of the house offerings. She smiled, shrugged her shoulders and said she didn't know, adding that she was under-aged and didn't drink. So I ordered a Cabernet, and my spouse ordered a Pino (Noir). A few minutes later, she brought us the Cab and Pino Grigio (white wine). She reluctantly took the Grigio back and returned with a glass of Noir. When I asked her what was her favorite meal on the menu, she replied that she didn't eat her meals at Roma's so didn't know. That should have been a clue!!! She brought us standard dinner rolls, glasses of water, and we ordered. The small salads came cold and crisp with slices of romaine topped with fresh mozzarella cheese, a slice of tomato and dressing. The Sallisaw Special consisted of spaghetti noodles, a pounded piece of sautéed chicken, 4 shrimp, one artichoke heart cut in four pieces, canned rubbery mushroom slices, spinach and chopped red peppers -- in a white sauce. My Sicily Special included fettuccine noodles, sliced canned mushrooms, small round slices of processed pepperoni and ham (liked you'd find atop a pizza), spinach, black olives and chopped red pepper, also in a white sauce. Both meals were just okay; however, the lack of seasoning made for a bland sauce, Thus, neither of us finished our meal. Frankly we were disappointed in our $45 dinners, yet what can you expect in a town of 8,000 when the only main grocery stores are a small Walmart and Dollar General?

Romas was good. Old cracked leather on the booth cushion, weird artificial air freshener smell, garlic knots meh, marinara good, house salad ok, water had a weird taste, chicken piccata was good except for the price I could have used more pasta. Waitstaff was not a rush, but friendly and efficient. I'd probably not go back but if I had a hankering for Italian and happened to be in this town, then this will be good enough in a pinch.

I enjoy the food at Roma's, and feel that it is quite authentic. I do think they need to train their waitstaff in the basics of restaurant etiquette. Drinks should be served promptly and appetizers before meals, all hot plates should be served at the same time, not letting three people enjoy hot food and two people sit and watch until their food arrives. It does not cost any more to look professional and put together then it does to look like you just rolled out of bed wearing yesterday's hairdo. I am very put off by their cheap silverware and cheap plastic drinkware and plates. It is very offputting considering that the food is so good. I know this is a restaurant family from back east so they should know better. To the family, please take a little bit of time and effort to teach your staff the right way to represent. Your restaurant is one of the best in our small area!!!

What a delight to find a great restaurant in such a small town right off Interstate 40. If you live in the area or just passing through this place is a must try. We've been here a couple time now and have never had a bad experience. The booth's are a little rundown and could use updating but it's still a relaxing environment with great food. My husband always orders a steak and it always comes cooked to perfection and to his liking. This time I ordered the Salmon Picante and it to was cooked to perfection and super yummy. The Calamari we ordered was definitely over cooked and chewy but other then that everything was tasty. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

OMG! I am so glad that the mixed reviews didn't prevent us from trying this establishment. We arrived just past dinner time on a Saturday night. They were thankfully not super busy as we were traveling cross country and didn't want to take a ton of time but wanted a good meal. This met both requirements for sure. My sister got the manicotti and my husband the lasagna. I was torn between the chicken parm and chicken Alfredo. Our server Lea recommended the Alapona (pink) sauce with either. I decided on the chicken fettuccine and added broccoli with the pink sauce. Wow! The serving was large and the flavors were nothing short of amazing!!! Both my husband and sister loved their dishes as well. The garlic rolls were also delicious and the included salads were an added bonus that most restaurants do not include anymore. Don't skip stopping here, you will be pleasantly surprised. Oh, and the prices were reasonable and portions perfect! Wish we lived closer as this would be a regular stop. I also want to point out that most of the servers although very young, were pleasant and very well trained to be efficient and friendly. Kudos to their manager, and to the servers, keep up the good work and attitude in whatever you do in the future, and you will be successful!

My husband and I stopped in today on our way back from Tulsa. We arrived at 5:15 on a Thursday and were seated immediately. Our server was Londyn and she had the cutest southern accent. We ordered Dr Pepper for drinks and munched on the bread before our dinner salads came out. The bread is pizza crust baked on a greasy pan to create a type of pizza bread roll. The salad consisted of dressing on the plate, a nice helping of Romain lettuce (shredded, unwilted) and was topped with mozzarella and one sliced Roma tomato. We asked for additional marinara for the bread with no additional charge. My husband ordered the shrimp Alfredo. He received 5 pieces of fat shrimp, a small portion of noodles, and a generous helping of sauce. The shrimp needs more seasoning before it's cooked and tossed into the meal. I found the entire plate fell flat with just alfredo and noodles. I ordered the pasta sampler and was completely disappointed. I received a sampling of manicotti, lasagna, cheese tortellini, and penne noodles coated in the marinara, cheese, and placed in the oven to melt. The Romano and parmigiana are clearly from a frozen state. Once you freeze cheese, it creates a different texture inside the pasta and it all kind of mushed together. There was a green spinach looking ravioli and it was not good. The pasta outside was undercooked and I did not like what was going on inside. As we checked out, the gentleman (Enzu) asked how it was. I explained that I didn't like the sampler and he comped the meal. I explained that's a risk we take by trying new places but he wanted me to be happy. He showed me the menu and explained what he liked. He offered the kids meal for a smaller portion and spent the time talking to me. I read disappointment on his face, too. Overall, the food was a three star experience but the gentleman at the end earned an extra star. Not for the comp of my meal, but for the time he took to speak with me and point out what he might order next time. He provided a way for me to come back and try again and that's what owning a business is all about. Not everyone will be a fan but taking the time to listen and being compassionate will keep them in business for a long time.
