It's got a small playground but it's very spacious. It's really a quaint underrated park when Oktoberfest isn't going on. The restrooms were semi clean. Not bad for public use. Didn't smell terrible. Didn't see a lot of garbage. Most if that is in the river unfortunately.

There's so many events and festivals this park hosts. I find myself here a lot throughout the year. It's definitely a spot for recreation and entertainment. Among the events that are held here are: OKScotfest, Oktoberfest, Boomtown art and Music festival, wednesday night rides, ONEOK FreedomFest, Starlight Band Concerts... Some are completely free and others require paid admission (usually around $15). Check out there website for the full calendar and details about what's going on!

This is such a great park with an amazing view of the Tulsa skyline. There's a TON of great events that happen here like Linde Oktoberest Tulsa, The Color Run, Folds of Honor FreedomeFest 4th of July and way more. It's a true treasure of Tulsa and if you're here when there is an event, go to it!

I just came home from attending FreedomFest at River West Festival Park and I have to say, in all honesty, that I have never seen a better fireworks display. I have seen incredible fireworks shows at both the Hollywood Bowl and Disneyland but neither were as good as this. This park is really impressive. Great trails for both running and biking (or skate boards or rollerblades). Beautiful scenery along the routes with abundant wildlife. If you like birdwatching, this is a great spot. I saw a Scissortail Flycatcher, and American Goldfinch, Canada Geese and more ducks than I could eat in a lifetime. All in one day.The east side of the river has amazing statues about every mile or so. Some are kind of impressionistic, avant-garde sorts of things but others are of animals are really quite beautiful. And if you like frisbee golf, they have a full course set up.This is one of the best places to come within the city to commune with nature and just relax and have a very enjoyable time. Parking is free and abundant and every time you visit, you'll make a new discovery.

Always a fun time to be had at the River West Festival Park. I only ever come when there are events, but every time I come, I'm reminded of the fact that this could be a fun place to hang out even when there aren't events on the schedule.

One of my favorite places to go with my husband, Bill, and my dog, Oreo, is Tulsa River Parks. What I like about it is the trails. They have recently enlarged them so that walkers do not have to walk on same path as the bike trails! That is a big Hooray! for me. I used to be a biker, so I know how important it is to keep the pedal to the metal; but, as a walker, I hate having to watch out for those bikes all the time. This is not a problem on the Tulsa River Trails (at least for most of it). Another thing I like is the bridge across the river. This is a nice walk during the summer. Smelling the fresh summer air, feeling the mist of the river splashing over the rocks, and hearing the thump, thump of the wooden bridge as you pass by fellow hikers out for a stroll. The path winds up the river on the other side, pass some apartments, and back across another bridge. The unique thing about the river trails is that there are so many places to walk. You can actually walk from Northeastern State University in Broken Arrow all way around the Creek Turnpike, up Riverside, across the railroad bridge in Tulsa, and into Sands Springs. OR, you can take a turn up past OSU and walk straight up to Skiatook. Long walk, but it's possible! Probably should take a bike! Tulsa River trails also has several parks for picnics, playgrounds, and sports activities. And, of course, the new area is coming soon: A Gathering Place For Tulsa. That will make Tulsa River Parks one of the best places to come for a long time. I can't wait!

The west bank of the river is a great place to run and hosts many fun events.Notably, it's where they stage Oktoberfest, where many Tulsans complete epic feats of boozing. (That's another story for another review, thought!)I love this area for running. If you like running near the river, Tulsa has pedestrian bridges at both 11th and 31st streets so you can start on either side and make a loop. This particular part of the river trails is so nice if you want peace and quiet. The west side of the trails has fewer people and I'm not sure why. It's marginally farther away for everyone who lives on the east side of the river but has the same great trails. You'll pass the amphitheater, rowing center, and many scenic parks, including the River West Festival Park.My favorite event is the Von Franken Family Food Run which was staged here in 2013. Is there a better way to spend your Thanksgiving morning than donating food to Tulsa's hungry and getting a 4-miler in? There is not.Check out the other side of the river - it's a great place to get a good workout.

We did a 50 mile run here sponsored by TATUR and it was fantastic!! I had never been to this area of Tulsa before, but I absolutely wish we had such a fabulous trail system in KC.The race started near 41st and Riverside at a great little area with public restrooms that were moderately clean for being the 4th of July, a cute playground area and some fountains. The race was held on a 10 mile loop that crossed the pedestrian bridge, went up Turkey Mountain and then across another bridge and back to the 41st and Riverside spot. The entire way was paved, had separate bike lanes, mostly lit and in GREAT condition. I saw almost no trash and there were benches and trash cans stationed throughout. There were even statues and art along the Riverside side of the river and the pedestrian bridge was really neat to run along.I absolutely wish I lived close enough to take advantage of this trail system! What an awesome place for Tulsa to safely get active!
