The great state fair of Oklahoma is always so fun. It is one square mile of food, rides, exhibits, and entertainment There are several areas for parking and they just paved a huge area on the south off of 10th street but the north side is all grass and gravelIf you come on the right night you may catch a live concert from a middle of the road band with a few hits or a one hit wonder but it's the cost of entry to seeThe food is really the only reason anyone comes to the fair. What's your reason?

I haven't been to the fair in years. I can remember getting free tickets from the kids school or a Dr Pepper can for entrance, now it's $15 a person! They actually have free military day Monday but I wanted to beat the crowds and rain so I paid the price. I don't do the rides my interest is strictly the food and exhibits. The food "The Woozie" was amazing , double amazing and the portions were enough to split the entree at $12 which I feel was reasonable. The funnel cakes are always delicious and the strawberry tea was so fresh! I even got a refillable cup you pay $7 and get $3 refills. I saw several exhibits (car show, 4H club, farm animal birthing), clothes, wines and windows and spas to purchase.Parking was free and the walk to entrance not to bad. Overall a great time to attend early afternoon crowds low and food and activities plenty. Glad I went and got my fill of the f

It's always fun to attend annual State Fair and yes, it's all about the food. There was a good deal of food vendors, right down to $3.00 dollar tasty tamales. However, this year it seem the State Fair had less promotional venders. All in all it was a fun day at the fair.

Maybe it's because I'm a bitter old man but the fair just seems to have lost its attraction for me. My wife still likes it so I end up most years having to hobble my disabled self through it. A funny thing this year while I was waiting for my wife to purchase her "fresh squeezed" lemonade in which the powder had to be shaken to serve, a lady in a wheelchair scooter saw me with my cane and asked why I didn't have a power chair. When I explained $60 bucks she actually informed me it's now 65. $65 bucks to rent a power chair. I have seen this on more than one occasion. Besides greed why would it cost so damn much to rent one of these??? It seems like instead of attempting to help the disabled they are more interested in robbing us. The fair was the standard fair way overpriced food 16-18 bucks for a turkey leg. 12 bucks or so for a taco salad. It has the rides for the kids I think the armbands are about 20-30 dollars. Oh also the fair did raise the price of admission to 15 a person.Ridiculous to me. Reply to me and let me know if your experience is similar

Went to the state fair today. Been many years since I was there. Parking wasn't bad. Real close to the gate so easy access. Price was 8 dollars today for thrifty Thursday. It was nice to see metal detectors in use. I'm sure they were set pretty loose but did get my wife's purse. She had her phone, keys and other metallic objects but only slowed us down for a minute or two. Walk the buildings and I'll tell you they sure appear to have lost a lot of venders. Several of the bldgs had large empty spots. Stopped for a gyro as tht is my usual fair food. Was pretty good for 10 bucks. Looked much better than the 9 dollar corn dog. And I thought 4 bucks for a bottle of water was gouging. We did watch a cooking competition with 3 high school seniors tht was pretty good. Overall it wasn't bad. Stayed away from the midway. The problem with there not being a lot of people is you have to deal with every vendor trying to sell u stuff. Had my fill so good for another 5 yrs or so.

I love the Fair. I volunteered for 4 days and so I got to sample lots of the awesome foods that were available. The Fried cheese curd taco was my favorite. I do wish that it wasn't as expensive as it is. I see lots of families out there and wonder how they can afford it. I watched several shows. The Puppies of Penzance, the Swift Pigs, The Chinese Acrobats and the Grizzly bear show. I enjoyed all of them. I do with that they had some of the acts earlier in the day. I was there on senior day and it was scorching hot. I think alot of the older people had to leave to escape the heat and weren't able to enjoy some of the entertainment that was only available in the afternoons. I watched the bands march. I love seeing all the young people out participating in band. I will definitely be there again next year.

This is my forth state fair; I've been to NY, MD, CA and now OK. After growing up going to the CA state fair every year expectations are very high but after NY & MD hopes are low. We looked up prices online and knew what to expect. We decided to pay instead of taking advantage of military Monday since it was going to be 20 degrees cooler 2 days later. We entered through a smaller side entrance possibly because the welcome was nothing. Nothing even saying state fair and then walked along a road and boom!! Fair food vendors. We saw the huge Ferris wheel and enjoyed the local vendors in that area. We went into other buildings and did like the small display with information & education about OK. Maybe we are the minority but this is what my husband & I remember most about the CA fair. The displays representing the state and why your state is great. I would love to see so much more of this!!The food is everywhere but seating is so limited. After spending $12 for and Indian taco or $6 for lemonade oh want to sit and enjoy it. There needs to be a lot more tables & seating throughout the fair. The midway was fun. The cost was high! We paid $140 for our family's wrist bands. Next year I will take advantage of the online presale for sure. I LOVED the "Made in Oklahoma" booth. We enjoyed sampling mead & talking the The Flower Shop winery and look forward to visiting. We enjoyed the 4H area and the birthing center. Next year we will also make sure to check the schedule for shows. Overall we rated the #2 in our state fair visits. A very fun day and we look forward to attending each year as a family.

You can't not go to the fair... It's just tradition... You've been every year of your life But HOLY COW it's expensive !! $12 to walk in the door this year!$12-$15 for a turkey leg depending on which booth you get it from! Little kids rides cost five dollars apiece! I understand it, I guess, from the fair's perspective, But how does a young family Take their kids and enjoy all the fair has to offer with those kind of prices??

Disappointed with my trip to fair. Too much extra walking to see nothing. I did get my first footlong corn dog. It was delicious.
