Staple: something having widespread and constant use or appeal. If you've visited Tulsa's famed Cherry Street then you've seen the beacon known as Nola's Creole & Cocktails. After opening in April 2018, this restaurant has progressively grown to be one of Oklahoma's most frequented restaurants, and a proud eatery in Tulsa, for good cause. Whether you've visited for the upscale interior, fancy brunch cocktails or the Cajun cuisine, there's much to applaud when it comes to this establishment.Since they've opened, I've visited a countless number of times. Nola's venue seems to be endlessly versatile. In fact, their space has expanded since it's inception. Adding the foyer and patio area, they now pack out their doors on most nights as the parking lot is full of cars waiting to be called. Each time I've visited, whether for birthday dinners, brunch gatherings or their happy hour, it's been a pleasing experience. The interior provides an upscale speakeasy vibe with double doors, an immediate stairs to the sublevel, lowlighting and dark accents throughout. The foyer is another great area to dine, having large glass windows, clear walking paths and a good view to Cherry Street. The seating is always appropriate for the occasion, despite the constant demand and often long waiting list, there's plenty of seating/space inside. I've always received consistent, balanced service from the server and even the oftentimes overwhelmed host. Somehow, despite the vast menu, the server(s) always have suggestions which isn't difficult since everything on the menu delivers. The food is hands-down the best feature of the restaurant, having a variety of drinks and food options for any time of the day. I've ordered the [shrimp/crawfish] Po Boy, the Étoufée, the Shrimp Remoulade and eaten many other dishes and never been disappointed. I'm a sucker for their red beans & rice, dirty rice and smashed red potatoes but any of their sides seem to be home runs. And finally, their cocktails! At $12 each, many would be hesitant to casually order. They may not be cheap or super strong but if you like to indulge in the fancy then they're worth it. I'd suggest the Sangria or the Hurricane. It's amazing that Cherry Street has been one of Tulsa's most busy hubs for frolicking and squandering for decades but since April 2018, Nola's has been the most popular spot on the block. Price-wise, Nola's is sligtly more than the Tulsa average but you'll forget about the bill after you've tried the food. I could rave about Nola's on and on but the best way to bring these words to life would be to visit for yourself.

I wish Yelp would allow separate ratings for ambiance (great); service (good); food (ok), but that might make it too easy not to expand. Our party of 4 made reservations to dine here prior to a PAC show. We were very early, but they were gracious and sat us right away. We had all been here before, so the pleasant atmosphere was no surprise with all the NOLA charm, jazz playing in the background and familiar Cajun offerings. The look is very reminiscent of restaurants we have eaten at in New Orleans. Our server was good and but came off almost a little too casual for the other more upscale touches in the restaurant. Nothing inappropriate, just more like a (insert any mid-priced bar and grill chain e.g. Chili's) vibe. They did everything a diner would expect and retrieved extra napkins, hot sauce, etc. requested. Wished they had mentioned servers would help pull shrimp off skewers before required fingers were required to remove (thus the request for extra napkins). My Gumbo was good (loved the flavor of the andouille sausage), but like before, it was already pretty spicey. I love spicey but prefer to add my own flavor. They do have an array of Louisiana hot sauces which I added to suit me.My Jambalaya was just ok. It seemed to lack that Cajun magic. The bread pudding had the right flavor rum sauce, but the texture was a little off.Overall, it was good but made me yearn for a NOLA road trip.

This food was so delicious! We were told it would be a long wait but we barely waited 10 minutes. The restaurant is fairly dark and has several different areas to sit. Although the food aaa delicious, it was quite expensive.

Came on a Friday evening, so expected a wait even for a party of two. We were seated on the heated patio area in under 30 minutes. Our server was friendly and the food was delicious. We had the Cajun queso, voodoo chicken and crab cakes-all flavorful.

Nola's has been my go to spot to bring guests. The food and atmosphere is great! The voodoo chicken is a go to. That sauce, chefs kiss! The drinks have all been great too! I need to come back for a happy hour. If you haven't tried the beignets, please save room! On a good day they'll have a slight crunch and the rum sauce is superb! We always have a good time, whether regular seating, the bar, or the patio! They also show games in the bar if you want to be entertained while you eat.

Excellent setting and a beautiful bar. Friendly and attentive service, and really good food and drinks! Boudin balls and fried alligator are a must! The etouffee was some of the spiciest I've been served in a restaurant and that's a good thing! My hurricane was strong and very tasty! Solid Cajun food in Oklahoma!

Initially, my family and I went to the restaurant to have a family dinner at 3:30on a Saturday. Once we arrived,, we sat there and waited for about 25 minutes before someone gave us water or menu. The manager came by, apologized, and paid for our appetizer. We were appreciative and proceeded to make our order. 40min later our food came out. The food was decent but not great seemed to be bland. I understand things happen but this experience seemed underwhelming. I still tipped my normal 25% but I probably will not go back, they people made my experience better.
