We visited Tulsa OK December 2017. We wanted to see if show. We. simply asked if they had a US Military discount. No discount here, and the staff was rude to us about it. We simply took business elsewhere.

This place is amazing! There was an actor, Thom Hunt, there last night that had an amazing performance. It is awesome that Tulsa has a place like this for artists and purveyors of art to comingle.

The Nightingale Theater is a Tulsa treasure. Snuggled in an industrial block, one has to know what they're looking for OR be willing to stumble into the unknown. They cater eclectic and queer (in its 'unconventional' meaning) in addition to comedic and quirky, providing entertainment that can be thought- and emotion-provoking as much as, or sometimes more so, than the fare you may find at a conventional, city-claimed performing arts center. The setting is intimate and raw. They do not scare aware easily from controversial performances, and that makes them precious. Some stories just need a safe venue in which to be shared, and they do every one differently with their own bootstrapping, unique style. Everything from a monologue performance of one person's experience with religion to burlesque shows. Others include Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School drawing sessions; musical theater; political dramas; costume parties; crowd-participation comedies; abstract, experimental performance art; underground musical performances; and not to mention they throw an annual Baconfest fundraiser to support their independent local arts AND a Ms. Center of the Universe Pageant that is an in-your-face, snarky, flip of the finger to patriarchal dictation of womanhood.

What an amazingly comfortable, if not slightly scary, theatre. I have attendend many performances there ranging from so-called legit theater as well as some experimental stuff. Always a good time, always a friendly staff, always the best money spent on entertainment every time. This has got to be Tulsa's most unnoticed jewel. Get off your butt, put on your favorite jeans, turn off the TV, avoid the mall movie complex ,and go out to experience what live performance should be!!!
