Reasonably priced for the work and very insightful for what needs to be done in order to get what you need. Had Nathan come out and he told me what needs to be done now and what should be done as we go down the road. Would suggest to anyone that has a car that they can't take to the shop for any reason.

I would like to give a thumbs to my mechanic Nathan Thorn. I have a 1998 Chevy tracker, and during the month of December i had four or five different things that i needed to get fixed under my hood. I was very pleased with the services he provided. It was a plus that he could come to your work or home to work on your car. I still have a few things i need to work on, Thank you Nathan for all you did. I'm in Tulsa Ok, not california

TL;DR - Do not take your car here. Terrible mechanic. They put a bad starter in my car and overcharged me for it. They knew they didn't fix my car, but took my money anyway. Were rude, and unapologetic.Where do I begin.. So randomly one night my car wouldn't start, Ive been having issues with the starter for years, so I guess it finally gave out, it was making this weird 'wurring' sound when the key was turned.. So the next morning (Friday) while Im at work I call this place (My Mechanic) because it had good Yelp reviews and was the closest one to my house.. And the guy answers and tells me that he could get it looked at and possibly fixed that day and to go ahead and bring my car in.. So after taking off work and paying $70 bucks to get it towed there, we have a chat and I tell him the car probably needs a new starter. He goes to try to start the car and comes back and says "I don't normally charge a diagnostic fee, but Im gonna have to charge it to you cause Ive never heard a sound like that before." .. Now already Im seeing red flags cause why would you tell a customer "I don't normally charge a diagnostic fee but I'm going to charge YOU!".. and why would you need to diagnose the problem when I already said I need a new starter!? But I had to get back to work and the car was already there so I went with it.. Anyway, I call a few hours later and the guy tells me that not only has he NOT looked at it, but he wont be able to look at it until Monday.. Great.. So now I have to get a rental car for the weekend! Thanks for that, I could have taken it elsewhere and saved some cash! So Monday comes along and he tells me that YEP I need a new starter ( Duh..) and quotes me on the higher end of a starter rate (Around $400).. Its a 2000 Altima.. Its old.. The quoted rate was probably worth more then what my car was.. But.. Im just like "Fine, get it fixed".. Thankfully, he finished it that day. So both me and my wife take off work again to go pick up the car and he tells me that they replaced the starter. So I sign some paperwork and pay them.. And this is where is gets worse.. After he takes my money and hands me the keys he says "Oh, and just to let you know, its making a weird noise when you start it.' .. Wait wait wait!! Aren't YOU guys supposed to fix the "weird noises"!? Then he yaks on about something with the flywheel and transmission and how he doesn't deal with those things so I "need to take it somewhere else to get that fixed".. WHAT!? That would have been NICE TO KNOW before I agreed to have THEM fix it!! I could have just gone somewhere else and had them fix everything at one time!! But again this was all told to me AFTER they had my money.. So I go out to my "fixed" car to see what this weird noise is he is talking about.. As soon as I turn the key the car makes this AWFUL GRINDING sound!! It was ANNOYINGLY LOUD!! My car had NEVER made a noise like that before!! And also the Check Engine light was on.. That wasn't on before! But hey, it started! At this point I didn't want these guys touching my car anymore so a few days later I took my car to a different mechanic to get it looked at and get the grinding noise (THAT MY MECHANIC CAUSED) fixed.. And the new mechanics tell me that there is nothing wrong with the flywheel or the transmission and also "Whoever worked on your car last PUT IN A BAD STARTER".. So the new mechanics fixed my car CORRECTLY and for less than $250 and it started up and ran PERFECTLY.. No thanks to My Mechanic. And when I contacted My Mechanic about the problem and told them about the bad starter, they brushed it off rudely and just said "Sorry No Refunds".. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY!! GO ELSEWHERE!!

So, my car has been making lots and lots of bad sounds... squealing, dragging, cranking. You name it, my car sounded like it. I've been dreading going to a mechanic for a while because I knew the bill was going to be extensive, but it had to be done. Needless to say, I now feel more at ease than I have about my car since the first time I stepped in it, and that's over 3 years ago.I heard about this repair shop from a co-worker who had nothing but good things to say. Their reputation is well-earned. When I came to My Mechanic, I was greeted instantly in a climate-controlled office that even had a bathroom, wifi, and a TV. After he moved another vehicle he was working on, the mechanic immediately got to work on looking at my car. Less than 45 minutes later, I had a detailed estimate of everything, printed out in writing--parts, labor estimates, and the like. Next, unlike other mechanics that usually try to tell you as little as possible and show you even less, he took me into the repair shop itself where my car was still jacked up off the floor. And he proceeded to show me with a flashlight every leak, every belt, and every hose that needed to be replaced as well as where and how it was leaking. He even mentioned something that would need to be replaced sometime in the distant future (so distant that he hadn't mentioned it on the estimate). Now, if you think that he was making things up to get a buck out me, you'd be wrong. Everything he mentioned, I had either some inkling of suspicion before the estimate, or he had clear evidence of. He even caught an incomplete repair job done by another mechanic 6 months ago, and something a different mechanic had mentioned needed to be replaced some time ago as well. That said, I did decide to get something repaired today. He had the part brought to him in less than 20 minutes and had it on and ready within the hour. The prices with My Mechanic are fair, the waiting room is comfortable--so you won't be banging your head against a wall waiting for him to get done with your car--and the business is honest. My car no longer squeals and it runs a lot better too--all that in less than 2 hours. I couldn't be happier.

He Had my car two weeks to fix a 62$ part. Charged me 950$ in labor for it. I don't think he did the 10 hours of labor on it. He's overpriced for the work he does. When I picked up my car drove it home noticed he messed my steering wheel up so I had to take it back to him. No apology or nothing he made it seem like a inconvenience for his screw up. Needless to say if you want to spend a ton of money for crap work he's your guy. From what I was told he charged me based off book price. So he's basically just like a dealership mechanic. Pricey and not honest. Will never have my business agin.

Ellis changed the spark plugs and oil, replaced my brakes and rotors, and fixed my cruise control all in one afternoon. Fairly priced too. I think I've found my new go to mechanic!
