This library is like a step back in time. It's a nostalgic 2 floors with a big staircase and lots of rooms used for all kinds of local activities and services to the public. They host tons of events, and when I'm less busy in summer, I enjoy attending the adult craft events. Last summer I even went to the children's exotic animal exhibit because I'm a kid at heart who loves animals. Staff are very kind. And I use my library card most for the Libby app and hoopla app to rent books and audiobooks electronically. There is always something going on and a great selection of books. Take your kids! And ignite a passion for reading!

This library holds dear memories for me since I was in elementary school. I have been one of those kiddos that have fond memories of attending some really neat events at the Muskogee Public Library. I remember when Ronald McDonald made a special appearance (87-88) and did a really good charitable meet and greet. He did some stand up words with our group. This library used to have more books then. So many library connections now service online book checking, so I am guessing that makes up for the lesser book load. To me, it's sort of sad. I use the library because the very thought of checking out a book and having that privilege to do so, is still a thing!! The nostalgia of the library in itself holds history. I can also recall the days when I met with a lector, a tutor, and doing HS English essay research. All libraries have a uniqueness to them. I do hope Muskogee stays in the free book checking services for many years to come. There is though a large selection for the children's book categories which offer some books for sensory kids too. I do recommend. Keep on reading on.

The MPL has a great selection of books in house, and they have quick access to the collections of 15 other libraries. They also are pushing for more electronic collections, and now offer magazines, music, audio books, and ebooks. The have free WiFi that's pretty fast, but their public computers are old. So, have patience with them.
