A great event to showcase local artists in a laid-back and cool atmosphere. This year's venue, The Plow, 29 E Reno was especially cool. With its open floor plan and minimalist vibe it was a perfect place to highlight the art. And highlight it did - from the lighting to the upbeat atmosphere, the art was the star of the show, and rightly so. The curated show featured a wealth of up and coming artists in OKC, giving them a showcase they rightly deserved. The art sales were by no means exclusive, with art for ever price point, especially in the Marketplace, where items could be purchased for as little at $10.The cocktails flowed, artists and patrons mingled, and a good time was had by all. The turnout was great, as Okies love to support local! This event is a great opportunity to give local artists a place in the spotlight.

3.5 stars to be exact. First, the turn-out was great which restores my faith in Oklahomans when it comes to artistic activities. The volunteers and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The variety and quality of the art were awesome. I was most impressed by the paper plates dress. I was hoping they'd serve drinks, and they did. The food trucks didn't attract too many customers, surprisingly. So, why it missed 1.5 stars? The videos featuring the spotlight artists had no sound or could not be heard. The part where they announced the sponsors, artists and winners was not well-organized and did not capture the energy this event needed. I actually felt like it was lacking a bit of, well....momentum. :)

Momentum is always a totally fun event, but I felt that this year was the very best. I really liked the multi-room venue and the use of different colored walls in some of the spaces. Being in a non-white non-cube space was incredibly refreshing. I also thought the art this year was of an even higher caliber than usual. I was so impressed this year. The only suggestion I have is in relation to signage and entry. The ticket tables were disorganized and hard to find. Other than that, brilliant work OVAC. Thanks!

I thoroughly enjoyed Momentum. The change of venue was refreshing. For an event that is heavily dependent on volunteer work, it went smoothly. I was actually pleased to see a large crowd out in support of the arts. My one criticism would be if the event will be held at 50 Penn Place again, better signage could be utilized to direct foot traffic through the show. The available signs were small and easy to miss. Overall, however, quite an enjoyable event. I will definitely be back to future Momentum events.

I have been attending Momentum for a few years, and I love it every time! It is one of the biggest parties of the year... There is always a large and diverse exhibition. It is wonderful to see so many of Oklahoma's young artists under one roof. I am always excited to see what pieces will catch my eye. It never fails there is always something that surprises me. The bands they bring in make it that much more of a party, all my friends and I go and spend all night hanging out, looking at art, listening to music, and of course, drinking! The bars they had this year had a cool menu. Overall I rated this five stars, it is one of the best events in the city by far!

I've gone to several Momentum shows over the past few years, and I've loved them all. The atmosphere is great, the volunteers are amazing and work really hard. Oh, and the art is not half bad. :-)

A show case for young new artists, what a fun night at a beautiful venue! The two ticket tables, one for sponsor tickets and the other for regular purchasing clientele were exactly as advertised, very organized, fast and efficient. There was a very good crowd enjoying the over 75 works of art from modern sculptures to traditional oil paintings, to beautiful wood bum pictures with water color added. There were some complaining that they were through the entire venue of art in 30 minutes, I would only imagine them completing a walk around that fast only if they looked at each piece of art like the Grizwolds in NATIONAL LAMPOON VACATION looked at the Grand Canyon. My favorite of the night depicted a huge oil painting of wild boar feasting on one of their own. The cocktail bars were nice with several different beer brands and mixed drinks and wine available. The mostly female new age grunge style band rocked and really entertained the crowd.
