Mom’s Family Diner

There are a few restaurants that if you come in and order the wrong items, you may get a different impression of the place. This is one of them. While it may be tempting to order the surf and turf which comes with a sirloin steak and fried jumbo shrimps for less than $20, you may not enjoy your meal. I am glad I did not get it. I got the chicken fried chicken and it's great. I am a little sad that it's not bone in fried chicken but instead chicken breast meat in a fried chicken steak style. However, in exchange you get a lot more quantity for you bucks as the whole thing is consumable. There is a thick layer of batter though which you could choose not to eat. This is a few places you could dine in and be comfortable full for a very cheap price. Overall, Mom's Family Diner is a good option for a quick bite that will fill your stomach without draining you wallet. The value is there, and the money is worth spending. As an additional benefit, breakfast is all day!

We were looking for a place close to our motel. This little gem popped up on Yelp and we love going to diners so we decided to try it. Great decision on our part. Our waitress, Jamie, was great. Very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. She seemed to know exactly when we needed something and she showed up at our table. They have a breakfast menu that you can order from all day. They also have a lunch/dinner menu. We both decided to go with breakfast for lunch. I had French toast and sausage links. I love French toast and these did not disappoint. The links were good not great. My husband had a country omelette and has browns and toast. The omelette was huge. The serving of hash browns was also huge. I tasted both and they were amazing. If we are ever in that area again, we will definitely stop in. I highly recommend it.

Let me first preference this with: we were a very large party to seat. A hockey team of boys and their parents. The hostess and servers initially looked very overwhelmed but within minutes they got things settled and were attentive and caring to our tables. The food came out quickly which was great considering the team was starving after an outdoor hockey game. Our meals were decent. Nothing stood out except the portions. We all brought food back to the hotel. So for the price, you're getting a good deal. My mark down to three stars is for cleanliness in the bathrooms and care and maintenance. Every bathroom had something out of order. For as hard and dedicated as the staff are, it would be nice for management to support them with working amenities.

Stopped in while on a weekend vacation. Friendly staff, quick service and delicious food. Highly recommend for anyone looking for home cooked meals in Tulsa!

We stopped in here for morning breakfast with the kiddos. They wanted pancakes, waffles and eggs and this looked like it would be a good, local stop. They offer a full menu with breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The restaurant was very clean and servers were very friendly. Portions were very good sized and the food tasted really good. The only negative I had was that the sausage patty was over cooked and dry. But the rest of the food was on point. We did not try the lunch or dinner menu but the breakfast was good. We definitely would come back.

Cons: It's in the former village inn and it has a very similar menu, but it's not as good. Chicken fried steak soggy. Too much gravy. Flavorless pancakes. Limp bacon. The wait staff seemed kinda the same, but now they're so unfriendly? Pros: decent price. Clean. Plenty of parking. Accepts credit cards.

Home cooked meals, excellent service, great homy feeling. We loved everything we ordered. The diner felt like a local establishment full of love and desire to serve. Definitely recommended!

We had breakfast here today and the food was okay. Not great, but not bad. I was very disappointed when I went to the men's room before leaving and it was dirty and floor times loose and missing! Shame on mgmnt. and ownership for not fixing and presenting better. The whole restaurant needs an update remodel.

We love Mom's Family Diner, especially for breakfast. We frequent both the Mingo and Yale locations. Both have outstanding friendly service, attention to detail, and deliciousness. Highly recommend for a down home meal and comfort.

Shared a burger & onion rings with friend last night. OMG it was awful! Pre-made hamburger patty was tasteless and hard like rubber. Couldnt cut thru onion rings (oviously the outer layer of an old onion) even with a knife, flat coating flavorless. Even splitting the meal it was almost $20! This was a surge for me and I'm still regretting. (Waitress was awesome, Pepsi was good. It wasn't waitresses fault. Shes obviously doing more to try to make up for the food.)
