Molcajetes Restaurant

This is NOT a TexMex restaurant which is a good thing. I wanted something more authentic. The place looks small and plain form the outside but don't let that make your decision not to eat there. Inside the place looked very good. Very clean and organized. To me, the looks of the interior are important. If the staff keeps the dinner area nice and clean, then that is usually the way they are going to keep the kitchen. I am big on Sanitation being that I have worked in the food service industry for 25 years. Food safety is just as important as food taste. The service was excellent. The waitress made sure we were well taken care of and even though her English was not fluent, there was no misunderstandings when ordering. The Menus were in both English and Spanish but yet easy to read with pictures of the menu items. The food was definitely authentic Mexican as there were items on the menu I had never seen before. The complimentary chips and salsa were great! The salsa was very spicy which made me pleased but if you don't like it very hot, I would ask if they have something more mild. got a burrito and some tacos which were topped differently than the standard TexMex. Personally, I loved the different flavors. Fresh avocado in a taco is brilliant! I choose the marinade pork styled burrito which was excellent and way filling. Plate also came with rice and beans all with great flavors. In short, and excellent meal!Price was pretty good and not too expensive. They do not have free refills on drinks so that is something to consider if you need to drink a lot. You have to go to the register to pay and they take credit and debit cards. They actually have a very nice point of sale system.In summary, this was a very clean place with awesome authentic Mexican food with fantastic service to boot. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat Mexican, but wants to eat something out of the TexMex norm of restaurants!

So good. Coming from California, this was the most authentic Mexican food I've had in Tulsa. Place was busy but we were able to get a table after a very short wait. Service was awesome, will definitely be back when we're in town.

Went to this spot since they had good reviews but was a little disappointed. Menudo had good flavor but no hominy, maybe it's an OK thing. Ordered chorizo & egg taco & they brought a chorizo taco because they don't do chorizo AND egg tacos but they will do a chorizo & egg plate. When we asked the waitress she side it was restaurant policy, service (waitress) was friendly.

The best Mexican food in the land. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful in guiding us through the menu. The tortilla chips are made from their scratch corn tortillas.

Will be back here for sure. The food was delicious. They made homemade tortillas, which brought me back to when my grandmother made them. The menudo hit the spot. The chile rellenos were very flavorful and big portions. Couldn't finish everything. Caldo de camaron y pescado was cooked to perfection. Our server was on point when we needed something without asking. Beautifully decorated.

Best authentic Mexican food around. Large selection of options, spicy plates are the best!!! Soft rice and homemade tortillas! Large parking lot, quick friendly service! Mariachis on weekends!!!

The food was delicious and their portions are so generous! My husband and I shared the molcajete and we had to take the rest to go. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

The food was great but the roach crawling on my leg was not what I wanted at lunch...I flug it off of me and was speechless. My husband went to the bathroom and i grabbed my phone just in case I saw it again. I was paranoid the rest of the time we were there. I could have left but I didnt complain I just didnt know what to do

Molcajetes is a truly authentic Mexican restaurant. The food was wonderful, and at a good price. The wait staff were attentive to detail and checked on us frequently. We live here in Tulsa, and we will definitely be coming back often. Next time, we want to come try out their breakfast offerings.
