If you don't sit outside and stare at the storefront, but decide to go in; you've made an okay choice. I don't think I took one for the team on this first review, and I hope others go, but I am interested in the consistency of quality. I may go back some day, but most likely not. There is potential with the menu but my baseline was enchiladas verde with a ground beef taco with black beans and rice. The taco shell was super stale, but the ground beef, cheese, and veggies were great on the taco. The enchiladas were very flavorful, but the chicken was tough and the tortillas were stale too. The verde sauce was good, and maybe a smear of guacamole topped the enchiladas which was new to me but welcomed.Red and green salsa and a queso cup are given with the chips and they were all good.If the chicken, tortillas, and taco shell were fresh it would have bumped this review up two more stars for sure.

Love to try new food but to be honest I had a Guatemalan tamale when they were at a different location. I think of stopping every time I go by which not often but today we decided to go out of our way to eat lunch here. The Guatemalan was just as good as I remember. Food portions were good. Must try!

You will think I'm crazy when you see it but this place is honestly fantastic. If you are the type of person to ignore the location/decor for great food, you've found your place. The tortilla alone was the most authentic piece of Hispanic food that I've ever had in OK. I ordered sour cream chicken enchiladas and as a very basic dish I didn't expect so much flavor. I could actually taste the corn in the tortillas and the chicken had "chicken" flavor as well ha! It definitely wasn't over processed ingredients. The rice and sauces taste like it is made from scratch. This place deserves more recognition from serious foodies but it is definitely NOT for someone used to more mainstream tex-mex.

I've driven by here countless times, as it's on my way home. I had noticed that there were never many, if any cars in the parking lot. Now, I know why. Absolutely, hands down, in all my 55 years....the worst Mexican food I've ever had. When I walked in, 2 workers were sitting in the main dining area taking a break. Not very professional. While they were seating me, I quickly noticed that I was their only customer. Anyway, I sat down and they brought chips, salsa and queso. Unlike another reviewer, I didn't get green and red salsa. They brought only the green. It's wasn't very good, either. I ordered the Enchiladas Verde. I love Mexican food. It's my favorite. The more authentic, the better. These were the lousiest enchiladas I've ever had. Golden Corral makes better enchiladas. The taco was hamburger meat, with lettuce and cheese. There's nothing wrong with that. The problem was, the meat had no flavor, unless you like the taste of ground beef with no spices heated up in a skillet. I had read another review about this restaurant while I was in the parking lot while I was about to go in that stated, among a sea of glowing reviews, that it was nasty. I really think that was the most accurate review. Yuck.

We love this place! The platanos and papusas are delicious, the rice and beans are very flavorful (though I wish they had red beans instead of black), the portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, they have both Jarritos and Tropical (Central American soda) as well as a few Central American beers. Best of all, the server (we had only one in the many times we have been there) is really nice and helpful. She insists on making us both corn and flour tortillas, and by "making" I mean she went around the counter to the kitchen and made them. Mi Familia is definitely worth the drive out to Bethany. If you haven't had Central American food before, Mi Familia is a great introduction. If you have, Mi Familia is a a comforting and delicious find in OK.
