Mexico Joe's

Our first time here. We live in Norman but wanted to take a drive and visit the city of Stillwater. We stopped in this restaurant for lunch and the food was delicious Grace our server was amazing and we couldn't ask for anything more.

If you like Eskimo Joes don't try Mexico Joes!Unfortunately Mexico Joes was very disappointing. Worst service and experience we have had in a long time! Food was mediocre. Salsa was chunky salsa closer to pico. White Cheese dip was flavorful. We had the combo fajitas. Chicken was not seasoned and steak was over seasoned with pepper. The only good thing was the fresh tortillas.

I went here a couple nights ago and had a terrible experience with my server. She was probably around 45 years old and right off the bat called my 70+ year old grandma something similar to "baby doll". Like, excuse me, she could be your mother. Since when is this appropriate? And one of the kids who was in my party is very socially anxious and their parent still has to order for them, the gosh darn server said something like "Hey, you better talk to me, your old enough to order." EXCUSE ME?!?!? The poor kid was peer pressured into ordering her own food but I know it made her uncomfortable. The food itself was fine, but it always seems to disappoint me. It was really crowded, and of course the server had to put us in a booth in a really boxed-in corner when the other half of the restaurant was perfectly spaced out and had enough room. I can say one thing for sure, I will be very darn hesitant to come back here.

Always our go to in Stillwater May not be the best but they never disappoint. Not a big fan of their salsa , but the chips are good

Ate here after moving my son into his apartment. I also went to OSU so coming here brings back great memories. The food is still just as good and service was excellent! Definitely a must go to when in town. They were able to seat us right away and the vibe was bright and fun.

My girls and I came to try this place out because of a school thing. They bring three types of salsa to the table, Fresca type of salsa, mild, and hot. The Fresca one isn't hot, it's more of just the ingredients of a salsa without the peppers, the mild tasted like marinara sauce, and the hot tasted disgusting, I can't pinpoint the pepper they use for it, but it makes the salsa takes gross. This is my personal opinion of the food's flavor. The food did not taste great. The rice was hard and a little on the thick side, the beans were ok, and the flautas were ok, not bad, not great, just ok. The service was slow I would say. There didn't seem to be a lot of guests, but our food took a long time to come out. Overall our experience was mediocre and probably won't be coming back.

In town working and the front desk at the hotel suggested Mexico Joe's especially for the chips and salsa. I went before 5 to beat the crowd. I found an open spot at the bar and ordered a burbon and coke. Bartender brought me chips and salsa and suggested the chicken bacon quesadilla. Chips and salsa were mediocre at best. Chips seemed to be homemade, but the salsa was bland. The quesadilla came out, and that was great. My expectation after the salsa was low, so when the quesadilla came out, i cautiously took a bite. That was an impressive quesadilla. The chicken was tender, and the cheese and bacon were plentiful. It had an incredible cheese pull. If I were to recommend this place, it would be for that, not the chips and salsa. My Bourbon and coke was strong! Jody The Bartender was super friendly and engaging. She had been there since opening and was having to close bc someone called in, but she kept a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Overall, it was a good time, and the regulars who frequent the place were friendly as well.

Been here several times alway a solid 3. Food is average but the wife likes it here. Children from a visiting baseball team From Kansas spent over an hour because left and they were still sitting in the bar as the coaches and parents were drinking Margaritas and what looked like shots as the kids 14 and under in a 21 and over bar area sat around with nothing. Hopefully the drunk a$$ adult did not get any child killed that night. I don't care if they kill them selves drinking driving as long as no one else is hurt. Who ever is these kids parents sue the baseball league your kids are in

This restaurant is ok it really feels like bunch of college kids training to run a restaurant. The charity games and prizes are won by family members or members running the games. Not totally 100 percent fair it becomes 50% percent of chance of winning against the house oh and that not the best part wait for they let minors into the bar area and coaches driving baseball players drink and take shots of alcohol making the kids wait for them. Really classy talking to management and told I was overreacting

We met my father and stepmother here for his 80th birthday. It was his choice and is one of his favorite places in Stillwater. We brought a large bouquet of birthday balloons and the staff played along, hiding them until the perfect time. I wish I could remember the names of all the great staff members who helped us and took pictures. We had the Cadillac Queso and the White Queso. I preferred the Cadillac but my Dad doesn't like all the extras so the white one suited him best. You can't go wrong with either choice. The salsa that comes with the chips is delicious though I'll warn you that the spicy one is as advertised; it's spicy!!! I got the taco and two enchiladas, one beef and one chicken. It was a delicious combination of all the things I enjoy. It was certainly more than I needed to eat and left full and satisfied. My husband had the mild Mex Cadillac enchilada plate. It was more than he could finish and he said the chicken was juicy and well flavored. He's not a spicy fan and is always worried about things being too spicy. My stepmom ordered the taco salad which is her regular meal and cleaned her plate which is something I don't see very often and is all you need to know. I don't remember what my Dad ordered but he managed to make a big dent in his meal but took the rest home as a special treat for the next day. If you find yourself in Stillwater this is a great option. I think it's better than the campus options simply from a parking perspective. There is a large bar area and patio, as well as the casual dining area we sat on. I think it's a place that could make everyone happy. Sadly I didn't remember to take any pictures of the food.
