Mermaids Seafood Restaurant

$18 for 2 frozen crab cakes. Overpriced terrible food. Up charged on onion soup that wasn't informed by staff of $3.50. Servers are friendly. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I had lunch with coworkers at the Arkansas location. I had the spinach bow tie pasta with sun dried tomatoes and fried mozzarella. This restaurant had limited vegetarian options but many menu items can be customized. Nivea was our waitress and the service and food was great.

I'm surprised that they don't have a higher rating on Yelp! We just had dinner there and it was very good! We ordered Barramundi (Australian sea bass), duck breast, and veal Maria. We all enjoyed our orders. Each entree came with a salad and bread for the table. I would come bs k when I'm in town!

Holy moly. This place was INCREDIBLE. It was the perfect spot for date night!! The ambiance is amazing... the restaurant was well decorated and had a unique layout. Our server was extremely pleasant and accommodating (I wanted mushrooms added to my carbonara). The food... my god the food. It was exceptional. I will definitely be coming back here!!

Ambiance is fine, the food is tasty, the problem I have and the reason for the one star rating is the extremely small portions and the price. I paid $20 for a tiny portion of fish on a tiny bed of rice. Two small slices of bread accompanied my meal. The fish was approximately 1"x 3". Not kidding. My friend ordered a coke and a glass of wine and had to pay almost $30 for the two. Crazy expensive. Not for me. Service was fine.

Terrible service from start to finish. Ignored paying customers, and intentionally delayed service as well as response to questions. Incredibly disappointing as we had heard good things about the menu,cocktails, and service.

I was really looking forward to seafood. It is my favorite genre of food. Mermaids had been suggested to us many times since moving to NWA just before COVID shut down most everything. So for our 26th anniversary, we decided to go.I was thinking this would be what to me is a typical higher end seafood place, but it wasn't. I think, by the menu, it maybe focused a bit much towards Italian. I was looking forward to scallops, my husband towards lobster. Alas, neither were on the menu. Our fault...we should have checked before going. In walking in, it did have a very cool atmosphere, I'll give it that. Wait staff was friendly, maybe a little too laid back for the type of restaurant I thought we would be entering. But I have a lot of seafood restaurant experience and from many states. This may well be the best in NWA, I'm not sure. It was nice to see the other people there were dressed nicely for the place instead of shorts and t's like I've seen so many times in nicer restaurants.The food was okay. I can't remember was I chose, quite honestly. Since it didn't have what I was hoping for, I just took a gamble after following the waiter's recommendation. I like clean, lighter food and this seemed like a good choice for that, but it wasn't. I do remember crab fried rice. I need to remember to stay away from anything involving the word "fried". It's just not for me.Overall, it was an ok experience, but I admit that was based on personal taste and experience. Someone else might love it! So I'd say it's worth trying out, but I'm not sure whether we will return or not.

Excellent food. Good service and clean! Love eating here with my family when visiting NWA.

We had an excellent experience today. We are in town from St.louis. We sat on the patio and the weather was great. We started with a nice beer. We then ordered the seafood special. We don't have dairy in our diet. They prepared our meals to perfection. We also were able to have the bread without butter. We all cleaned our plates. I would highly recommend if you are in the area to stop by and have a great meal.
