Memories of Japan is a great restaurant for sushi. It may not be the best, but the affordability factor stands out. When going to Memories of Japan, I would recommend getting the Tulsa Fried Bean Curd appetizer (fried tofu). The soft tofu is coated with a thin layer of batter and is then deep fried. The end product is a crunchy coat and super soft silky tofu inside. This fried tofu dish is very different to any other fried tofu elsewhere and it was delicious. The sauce that came with the dish was bland and lacked flavors. The sushi at Memories of Japan were good. The special rolls, Alaska and Florida roll, were $8.95 each. Let me tell you, I haven't seen specialty rolls this cheap. Of course, there are more expensive rolls on the menu. In terms of sushi, Sushi Hana is better and so is Oishi. I liked the decorations inside the restaurant. Nothing extravagant but they made the place look more oriental. Service was excellent. I would say if you are looking for the best sushi, Memories of Japan is not that place. Go to Sushi Hana for that. If you want good sushi that does not cost you an arm or a leg, then you come to the right place. 4 stars plus an extra star for affordability factor.

We are the only customers here on a Saturday morning, 11am. Service was prompt and we got our food pretty quick. The portions are generous. I was full just from the Tulsa fried bean curd. The sushi had a lot of filing to rice ratio. We like the pork in the katsudon but would order it with the rice to be on the side, so that it will not be drenched in the sauce. I like the tempura but didn't care for the nabe yaki udon. Lastly I like the song list at the restaurant. Lol

My 18 year old daughter's favorite sushi restaurant! She loves MoJ and the family feel. The service is nice. There are tables and booths also a small place to sit at the bar where you can watch them prep the sushi. I'm not the biggest fan but also not a hug true sushi fan and doesn't really have much of what I like. However, the ginger salad is spot on!! And I love the miso soup. The restaurant is quaint and located within a shopping center in a busy part of BA. Not too far off Hwy 51.Definitely stop in. This place is also family-owned.

01-11-2024, 1:30 PM, I wanted to try "Memories of Japan" sushi restaurant (Broken Arrow) that I've heard and read reviews about since we moved to Oklahoma. Today was the day! We were NOT disappointed. Impressive and tasty! Service by Jennifer was very good. We shared the Goyoza (fried pork dumpling) , my bride had the New Mexico roll and the L.A. Roll . I had a cup of Miso soup, the Black Dragon roll and the Iowa roll . Note the thinly sliced lemon atop the salmon on the Iowa roll - gave it a bright lemony bite! ALL OF THE FOOD WAS WONDERFUL. We even saw the owner of our favorite Pho restaurant, and her college age daughter, leaving as we neared the end of our lunch. My bride recognized her as she was leaving (her back was to us when we came in). We had a nice quick visit. We will go back‼

This is a good Japanese dining experience. I usually get a Bento Box with the different teriyaki options. They are a great value. I have tried the chicken, beef and the salmon and all are really tasty. You get soup or salad with it and california roll with rice and tempura vegetable.Service is prompt and friendly. Not fancy but affordable. Also has lots of sushi options.

Have been eating there for 15 years but I am done. Came in to eat at 2:45 and the blue haired guy said that we couldn't eat there as they are closed at 3:00pm. Why don't they just close at 2:45 then. Staff is not the quality it once was and really doesn't seem to care at all about the customer. Also the interior is dated and stinks like old fish.

Our first time to dine in here for a friends bday celebration. The food is delicious, plenty to choose and fresh ingredients. Price is reasonable specially with the amount of food you get. Didn't know until yesterday and this will be in the list of our go to resto.
