We have absolutely HATED working with Melrose Realty for the past year. We moved into this house because our friend owned it and we thought she would be our landlord, but she gave it over to Melrose because she had too many houses to take care of. The first six months were fine, but for some reason after six months they started CHARGING for every single maintenance request we put in. I'm confused because we are renters not owners and we shouldn't be paying for maintenance requests when this isn't our house. The garbage disposal broke EVERY month and they wouldn't get a new one instead they would charge us for coming to "fix" it every month. In the last month, all our doors were falling off the hinges bc they were cheap doors and of course they charge us almost $200 for that maintenance request. Seriously so ridiculous and terrible experience. I hope i never have to work with them again.

Would NOT recommend this property management. They are only out to get your security deposit and we should have known from the start. They allowed us to move into an absolutely disgusting house, trashed backyard and garage (obviously the last tenants had left on a bad note and they didn't receive their security deposit back so they just didn't clean it?!?) Richard from maintenance has yet to send us pictures of the condition of the house when WE moved out- we left it in 10x better condition then when we moved in and he still charged us $800 in fees for 'dust on the ceiling fans' 'food on the baseboards'. When we moved in their was pubic hairs on the toilet, oil stains and water damage on the walls, I could go on. When we asked for a meeting to discuss the ridiculous charges we had an 8 minute conversation with him before he threw a fit and stomped out. Before this meeting he took weeks on weeks to respond to us ( again they are only there to collect your money not to be cordial or answer any of your questions). This is a crew of about 2 maybe 3 people and they are NOT FIT OR SET UP WELL ENOUGH TO RUN THEIR MANAGEMENT COMPANY. I've been renting for years and have never had an experience this bad, and I've always been a polite and responsible renter. Again, would NOT recommend renting from Melrose Realty. Still waiting on them to get back to us MONTHS later. PLEASE don't rent from them.

The WORST company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Full of shady people who cause headache after headache. We had problems with the rent house as soon as we moved in. They let us move in without a working refrigerator or microwave for almost a month because they were going back and forth with the homeowners to "see if it was under warranty". After nearly a month we ended up buying our own refrigerator to be done with the stress. Oh, but the homeowners made sure to drop a cheap microwave ON OUR DOORSTEP that looks like it came straight from a college dorm. Moving out, they gave us back $470 of our $1,900 deposit. Keeping $1,400 of a deposit is absolutely criminal when we did not leave the house in poor condition at all. Charged us for a stain that was there prior, even when we marked "stains" on our move in sheet. Had to go back and forth with them for weeks to get a measly $280 extra, by showing them proof of their own mistakes from previous Zillow listings. If you don't take this review as a warning, I would get out your tape measure and be sure to mark each and every stain and scratch you encounter, measuring width, height, circumference, ALL OF IT, or they will accuse you of making it. On top of that, we've had an ongoing battle with them because either they or the homeowners had the utilities scheduled to be turned off a day before our lease ended, causing the carpet cleaners (that they require, even though they still ended up charging us for carpet stains), to not have water when they came in. That was a whole ordeal in and of itself. They do not take accountability for ANYTHING, and are some of the shadiest people I've ever met. If I can steer just one person away from this company, I will be glad. They are the worst.

I'm very satisfied with Melrose Realty. Although there were only a few times I needed service, my requests were promptly taken care of. I highly recommend them!!

If I could leave no stars I would. They'll ignore every maintenance request you make and then stick you for it in the end and basically keep your entire deposit. House was already in horrible shape inside and out upon move-in and I am proud to say we made as many improvements as possible and put a lot of time and care into the house, but to no avail. Called Jake (who many many times told us what amazing tenants we were) to inquire why the deposit had been kept and they said it was "filthy" and they were disappointed by the state of it. Really?? I've never been more disappointed in someone I was renting from... frankly, it's pathetic. Unless you've got money to blow and don't care about getting your deposit back, steer clear of this one cause they don't care about you, just your money. I wish someone had left a review a year ago so I would've known.
