I was tempted to go and get the premium Chirashi platter again because it was a great value and all that sashimi it came with was considerably good, but decided to explore an assortment of simple tuna maki instead, mackerel nigri, and the Escolar sashimi (this stuff is the best) Overall everything was very good, I do like sashimi more than rolls for some of these things though (such as tuna) the value is better with the chirashi or premium assorted sashimi it seems. My friend got the smoked cash roll, whew that was different and delicious!

Visiting Fayetteville, Arkansas for graduation weekend and highly recommend this place. Sushi was fresh, teriyaki Salmon was delicious and the Ramen bowl was out of this world. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. Meiji is very clean and also has seating outdoors which is a plus in NWA. I recommend the Bento Box which is a choice at lunch and dinner because you have the option of two or three choices which include sushi rolls or entrees.

Good quality sushi and nice interior design! We went during a busy time so service was slow, but our waiter was nice.

This place felt pretty nice and a good ratio of food quality to price at first, but recently it has been so disappointing. Ordered a to go order and got the worst meal I've ever received from them. The rolls tasted exceptionally average. All I could taste in the California was rice. Was given 5 prices of edamame??? So sad I spent a considerable amount of money on this.

Meiji is always hit or miss for me. While I can get better/cheaper sushi elsewhere, they have such a fun vibe in the restaurant that it makes you want to eat there. The service is always top notch, so if you're looking for atmosphere and great service with average but pricey food, this is a great stop for you!

I WISH I COULD GIVE 10 STARS!! THIS PLACE IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IN ALL OF ARKANSAS!!! The spicy tuna taco appetizer - Amazing, spicy, delicious, crunchy, flavorful, one of the best 3 bites per taco ever!!! Bento Box - Spicy Tuna, Philadelphia Roll, and tempura vegetables - This comes with a miso soup, salad, and 3 items... plus rice!!! Now I am NOT a rice fan... I asked them to make me a spicy fried rice (wholly cow) this was the most amazing rice on planet earth!!! They over delivered on ever single piece of the box! Just for reference we came in 45 minutes before closing, and still the standards were impeccable and food I can't stop raving about it. Beef and Chicken Teriyaki - My wonderful Jenny likes her steak well done :( (I cry a bit every time lol) She gave me a piece of the steak... It was still juicy and delicious! The teriyaki was not overly sweet or syrupy, but a wonderful balance to the heavier steak. SERVICE - 10 STARS AGAIN Denise was a wonderful server, making sure our drinks were never empty, our food was perfectly spot on, everything from the moment we came in to the moment we left were all smiles! I wish I could feature this restaurant on the top of all reviews! It was definitely our best meal in Arkansas and one of the top 10 together ever!!

Every business is feeling the effects of supply - materials, staffing, etc - and Meiji is not immune from those, Dining out post 2020 requires a little more time and patience, and each visit might be a little different than the previous. It's our world today. That said - there is only ONE restaurant in NW AR that I think delivers a solid sushi restaurant experience that could hold its own in a metro area and that is Meiji. There are always some changing fresh fish options and if you spring for the premium sushi or chirashi you'll be treated to something special. The staples - hibachi or appetizers - are always well prepared and flavorful. It seemed to me that the current menu offers more cooked sushi rolls - crab or shrimp based - and sauced/mayo'd ones which is disappointing to me, but I'm sure the majority of their market orders those. The sunset roll we shared was a little skimpy on the fish. Our most recent visit was about 630 on a Friday and they were busy but not crushed inside, but had a lot of takeout working as well. Service was a little slow, but we were kept in drink and our server and manager checked in periodically. A few sakes were unavailable, but the server knew exactly which and could make recommendations among the others, so as always, they are on top of their game. King salmon was the bomb!Treat yo self to some Meiji.

I used to visit Meiji regularly with a friend of mine. We called the lunch plate our diet meal because it had small portions of teriyaki salmon, rice, and sautéed veggies. After a lapse of a year or so we went there today and I ordered the same salmon teriyaki lunch plate. It cost $21 before tip and taxes. My friend and I are both 60+ and lifelong cooks, plus my friend owns a small cafe-we know portions. The salmon was two ounces, the brown rice was a half cup scoop, and the veggies were maybe three ounces. For $21, this is shameful.
