Mandy's Cafe

April 12, 2024An odd spring day in the Osage. It was calm. Very little wind. The blades on the windmills were still as if frozen. Mother nature didn't want to spin them today. Towers of smoke were visible across the prairie from the controlled burns. The smoky heated gases escaping straight up for hundreds of feet, undisturbed by the calm air, then billowing out like a big shade tree as they cool to the elevation. The temperature is perfect. Everything is green, growing, getting what needs to be done before the blistering summer heat. A great day to take a scenic drive to Mandy's Café. It has been a couple of years. A big double burger like the last time, but with fries today. The burger is a meal itself; stay focused on it. There will be fries left behind. The best burger for 50 miles in any direction. And there is the Ribeye steak dinner Every Saturday night 5-8 pm. Mandy's has the BEEF!

Cozy, homey, heavily patronized by locals. Western/rodeo themed decor and lots of info on the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. Good burgers, real fries, onion rings. Friendly service and reasonable prices, except for the $32.99 Saturday night rib-eye special.

The food is always fresh and seasoned well. This is the best place I've eaten in Ponca. The manager and staff are super friendly as well!

This cafe is a small town gem located in Shidler, OK. My husband and I were in town and managed to catch them open. I had their bacon cheeseburger with everything and an order of cheese munchers. The munchers have cheese and potato with a fried outside. They are delicious and one of my favorite things on their menu. It's been a long time since I had gotten to eat there since we no longer live there anymore. Our waitress was very sweet. Hope to catch them open again next time we are in town.

Ate at lunch. Disappointed in the lack of variety. Mainly burgers and fried food. Service was okay but I'm sure they are lacking staff just like everyone else right now. I will go back and give them another chance. There's only one other choice in town.

Best place in osage county to eat! Everything on the menu is fantastic! They have real french fries...not frozen!!! Steak night on Saturday night is amazing! A perfectly cooked steak every time by Mandy herself!!! The staff is phenomenal! Such sweet girls! What ever you need they are there to help! Do yourself a favor and go to Mandy's Cafe in Shidler!! You will not regret it!!!
