Maybe it was because we went in the middle of the night after a night out, but it was a very weird and unpleasant experience.Some man walked out of the bathroom with his shirt off and made us very uncomfortable. There were a few drunks and homeless people hanging around outside. The food took forever to receive and was not very good. Probably will never go back.

Excellent late night food, open 24 hours, one of the last restaurants grandfathered into having a smoking section from what I gather. It threw me for a loop getting asked if I wanted smoking or non when I walked in. The late night staff was attentive and engaging, the music from the kitchen was on point. This place passes the retro diner vibe check. Come here to chill and have some food. Don't expect gourmet blah blah blah its a greasy spoon that looks like its been there long enough that the city moved in around it. It's on my go-to list for after hours food from here forward.

Parking lot looks like a dump, trash everywhere. I hate that. Makes me question their level of pride. Thankfully the dining room was better.Showed up after 10 pm, when this place can turn into a side show of drunkards and oddballs. Which I wouldn't have minded so much except that the group behind us was drunk and loudly dropping the F-bomb all meal long, with little kids around. Oh well, partially my fault I suppose.Mama Lou's is a homey, greasy spoon, 24 hour diner complete with retro smoking and non-smoking sections. Thankfully the areas are very much separate with wall and door, no smoke odor creep whatsoever. Servers are excellent, very friendly and attentive, as a homey diner should be. This is the kinda place where everybody knows your name.Food was average diner fare. Battered fries were probably the best part, cooked right and crispy. The rest was forgettable. Philly cheesesteak was small, kinda bland and soggy. Too little cheese. Kid's catfish plate didn't come with fillets as advertised, instead they were fish sticks. Fish was stringy inside with dark patches of meat, not good. But prices are very fair. I didn't try their breakfast, which gets the most talk by far. Maybe next time. I'm between a 2 and 3 here, but service bumped it up.

Walked in past cigarette smoke and a half-empty McCafe glass, only to have four staff members at the counter- one on phone, three others not doing much, completely ignore me. This restaurant fulfills every negative stereotype about this part of the country.

Just your run of the mill dinner open 24 hours. Came here with a few buds last night after a night of partying. Nothing really special, got some cheese sticks, and could tell they were frozen before. Then I also got eggs, toast, and home fries. Toast was burnt. Service was on point though, waitress always came when we needed a refill on drinks and was there when we had any questions or was ready for the bill.Next time we'll prolly just stick with Waffle House or IHOP if it's after 4am.

Stopped here on the way out from a show (I'm with with touring band) and it was great. The staff was friendly, our food came out faster than I expected and everything was delicious. Exactly what we all needed at 1am after a long night. Our waitress, Christine, made the experience very pleasant. Being on the road is hard sometimes but people like her make traveling worthwhile.

Had the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. Very old timey place but we enjoyed the service and food very much.

Waitress forgot we were here and after she found out she started being rude. We have been waiting over an hour.
