I did something in Los Garcia's that I have never done in a small-town Mexican restaurant. I was surprised that it was necessary. But, enough was enough.I needed the town of Langley as I work toward earning my Mexican food merit badge. There are only two Mexican restaurants in town. After reading the reviews they both seem a little sketchy. Since the reviews and ratings of each restaurant were so similar, I figured the only logical way to decide, was to evaluate the restaurants based on the reviewers' pictures. Los Garcia's seemed to be a little grungier and more worn. Indisputable qualities that indicate an authentic Mexican restaurant. Los Garcia's was the choice and a good choice it was.A very friendly, older Hispanic couple own the business. They have been folding burritos and slapping refried beans on customers' plates for over 16 years. The decaying little building occupies a wedge-shaped corner lot, between Main and Cherokee Ave., just east of First St. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, but shows its age from years of wear. It is a typical Oklahoma small town Mexican restaurant that serves a more traditional lightly seasoned style of Mexican food.My wife had the 8. Chili Verde Burrito and I had the 18. Poblano Chimichanga. Both large plates of food, check the pictures. The pork in the burrito was tasty, but a little tough. Not gristly, just not tender. My meal was a big poblano filled with strips of seasoned steak and cheese, rolled in a flour tortilla then fried to a crisp texture. A different way to prepare a relleno. I liked it. Good beans and rice. The cold front had reached Oklahoma. It was 68 in Langley this afternoon. Inside the restaurant the air conditioners were set to 65 degrees. They were performing well. It was cold enough to make your burrito shrink up. I have never had to ask at any Oklahoma Mexican restaurant, "could you please turn the AC off? The owner did, making the dining experience much more enjoyable.Los Garcia's may be the better choice of the two Mexican restaurants in Langley.

Great selection on the menu! Was a bit confusing to find as the map took me down the street. The waitress was really nice and the taco salad was delicious!

Sorry this place is no bueno. Hole in the wall joints are usually the best from personal experience but this was a dud.Nonchalant waitstaff, slow service and gut bomb results. Nothing on the menu jumps out as a house special or anything special about it overall. Flavors are muted borderline canned or processed to the point to ease digestion with poor results.

This is my go to place for Mexican! Dined her with a group of 12 and called ahead. They had a table set up for us. The food is great, staff are friendly and efficient. This is the best salsa around!! I had fajita quesadilla.

Located in the older portion of Langley, south of HWY 28, Los Garcia's follows the recipe of many Tex/Mex restaurants in Oklahoma. The interior is clean, the booths are tattered, and there is a TV in the main dining room. The location is small, and when you enter you will be greeted by a friendly server while choosing your seat. I arrived for an early dinner on a Saturday evening at 5PM and was the only customer until about 5:30. What's the same:Yellow Corn Chips- keep 'em coming, we love them. Tomato Salsa - Simple and mild. Tomato and cilantro. Not much else going on. Ubiquitous Queso Blanco - You know and love the stuff. Menu - Nachos, burritos, rellenos, enchiladas, fajitas. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Rice - No better or worse than anywhere else. I just find this style bland and boring. Totally servicable if you like this style. What's different:Roasted Chile Salsa - You have to ask for it, and you should. I make a habit of asking at most Mexican restaurants and alwaysfind there is a next level salsa that has more depth of flavor. Los Garcia's is special. More heat as you would expect, but garlic and roasted chile flavor that excites the palate. Mix some in your white cheese dip and thank me later. Fajitas - Mostly the same, but worth noting the veggies were cooked well. They had the char from direct heat, but were soft without being mushy. Also the veggies served were ample. The meat had a bit more chew than I perfer but was flavorful. I understand I am not ordering a ribeye. Fajita Fixins - A seperate bowlwas delivered with my meal that was half sour cream and half guacamole. Genius! This provided enough of each to slather on each individual fajita and have enough toadorn a chip or two. Too often your fixins fall flat portion-wise. The guac was simple. Blended avacado with lime, salt and perhaps some garlic. Beans-Most places just add rice and beans on opposite ends of a platter. Same format here, and I usually taste both and skip them. However, the beans here are earthy. They taste as though they were from scratch as God intended them. Better than most and quite comforting. No heavy fat taste, and the beans have some consistency. Quite good. Other notes: Service and staff were excellent. Granted I was the only customer for half my meal, but drinks, chips, and salsa were all refilled without me asking. They had three servers on hand which seemed a perfect number for what I hope became a busy night for the small restaurant. Price - Right in line with what you expect to pay. $3/small queso. $11/Steak Fajitas. New Menu Item - Pollo Milanese. Pictured it looked delicous. A lightly breaded and fried chicken breast served with rice and a beautiful fanned presentaion of perhaps a whole avacado. I'm a sucker for avacado. I am always looking to add options when at Grand Lake. Los Garcia's will be a top choice in the rotation.

Small mexican place. Portion was generous. Average at best. Ordered shredded chicken chimichanga. The chicken was inconsistently seasoned with very bland bites and then very salty bites. Salsa had too much vinegar which overwhelmed the flavor. Probably will not stop here again.

Best Max food in Grinnell. Not many choices in town, but this is by far the best. Also, you can't beat the margaritas they serve. My favorite plate is their fajitas.
