Las Americas is THE supermarket if you're in KW, and I'm thrilled to share why it's a must-visit. The meat counter is a carnivore's dream - unbeatable quality, prices and variety. Fresh produce? They hit the jackpot there too! Now, let's talk flan. Oh boy, the flan is a showstopper. You can snag a whole cake for under $15, and trust me, it's worth every penny.A little heads up, though - everything is in Spanish. So, if you're not at least stumbling through the language, you might have a bit of a rough time. But hey, the delicious offerings are a universal language, right? Las Americas is a supermarket that's top of my list for fresh meat, produce, and of course, that irresistible flan.

This particular grocery store is great because it is so big which means, even greater variety of products! It is a family and minority-owned business. You can find a lot of Latin American brands and items. The way the aisles are organized makes sense as well so it makes it easy for you to find what you're looking for. Among the things I have been able to find here are piñatas, loteria cards, prayer candles, and great cleaning/home products. The most common reason you'll find me here though is for the candy. They have a massive aisle only dedicated to over 300 Mexican candy and it is absolutely glorious! It makes me feel like a little kid again. They also have the Mexican Ruffles chips, the Queso kind. So yummy! Their prices are very affordable and they always have specials going on. The Spanish radio stations advertises their deals regularly. Wednesdays and Fridays are their main sale days. The staff is consistently friendly and courteous.

Poor Management. While checking out, the cashier didn't pay attention and was charging me different prices for the same item. When I corrected her, she had to call the manager to fix her mistake. The manager came over and made the situation worse instead of helping. While trying to defend the cashier's mistake, she also accused me of lying say this with an attitude while fixing the cash register. She did this in front of several people around. What kind of manager doesn't that? Makes a mistake worse instead of fixing the situation. It was instead the cashier who knew she had made a mistake, apologized and we finished our transaction.

I like the ambiance of Las Americas. More like a supermarket in Mexico than any other store in Tulsa. Actually more like a giant Bodega than a supermarket. They have it all- every item in the Mexican culinary vernacular, super sweet staff that truly want you to be happy when you leave, and the specials are inspiring. The meat specials are the best. High quality meat all around, but the specials are freezer-fillers. Ask the butcher how they cook it, because the best part of this store is the fact that no matter what it is you want to know, they will find the answer. If you don't speak Spanish they'll not only find a bilingual employee, but that employee will find the guy with the expertise to answer the question. Happily. As if they enjoy getting you sorted out and on the right path. Ask how they would cook this and they'll give you recipe suggestions AND take you to the aisle to get the other obscure ingredients you're gonna need so you don't have to come back later once you decide on the particular recipe. Very fun, friendly place.
