Lalo's Taqueria

Great food. Little taqueria that does great Mexican. Tacos and tortas are we go for and we're never disappointed.

We drove by this place and discovered what a hidden gem it is. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The carnitas plate was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend!

Overall: We were not expecting to find good Mexican food in Joplin, but Lalo's proved us wrong. Bonus points for having many California favorites that are hard to find in other states.Food: 4.5Carne Asada Fries: The fries were crispy, the meat was well seasoned, and there was a good amount of meat. My only complaint is that I want a little more cheese.Carne Asada Huarache: This was closer to ones that we had in Mexico than the ones we found in Vegas. It was VERY big and tasty.Service: 5If you want to eat in, come at least 45-60 mins earlier than closing time otherwise it's only take out. The owner was super nice and chatted us up about food.AmbianceLalo's Taqueria is a small standalone shop with a few table. It's not as fancy as some of the other Mexican places, but it's great if you just want good food.

I have to say that I absolutely love taquerias and I have been to many of them. I was hoping to find some in the area and I stopped by lalos based on the reviews. The staff was friendly and the food came out fresh and tasty! I ordered a little bit of everything including lengua, Al pastor, and steak. I also ordered chicken tamales. I enjoyed each one and I will definitely come back again. The prices were affordable too which fits my appetite and my wallet.

Wow. When I tell you I about cried after taking the first bite, I mean it. The flavor and quality of these tacos are so delightful. I haven't had good street tacos since I moved here from Tulsa, but these match them perfectly! The service was quick and friendly. They give you two huge bottles of salsa when you dine in. Which is good because I love to drown my tacos in verde! 10/10

For Joplin, this was pretty decent Mexican food. I wouldn't say its the best Mexican food I've ever had but it does hit the spot when you are craving Mexican. I had the vegetarian California burrito and it was HUGE. I absolutely love it when I can walk out of a restaurant feeling full, especially when comparing it to the price. Lalo's Taqueria is not too expensive and has so many options even for vegetarians! The staff was also great and considerate to my vegetarian diet. My only comment is the cleanliness in the restaurant. There were a few flies here and there but I guess it was also peak summer when I went.

The tacos here are some of the most legit tacos in the Midwest. At most taco places I rarely eat the second tortilla shell but this one I couldn't resist. I got the carne asada and tripa taco. Tripa is usually my favorite taco meat and I'm always hesitant to order it because it has to be cooked right. Lalo's cooked it perfectly! Anytime I find a spot that can cook tripa, I know it's a legit Mexican spot. Definitely come by here to get your Mexican food fix

Really good tacos. Red Salsa was a bit on the tomatoey side and certainly needed more heat but the Salsa Verde was excellent. Carnitas we're a bit dry but very flavorful.

Best authentic taco spot in Joplin, maaaybe along with Chavela's. The lingua, asada, and asada-chorizo are top notch.
