The trail we were on came to an opening through the trees, where lake Bixhoma can be seen.
Great views!

Great place to hike and fish. Man made waterfall is there which is nice, and nature trail is pretty fun to hike.

I went to walk the trails and did some exploring on-foot, and I loved what they had here! Beautiful views of the lake, marked trails, and me and my partner even did a bit of climbing! The climbing wasn't necessary, just part of some of our fun. From the parking lot area, we went up the hill towards the trees, away from the lake, and the trails they had there were well marked, but not particularly wide walking paths like Turkey Mountains'. If you are in the mood to feel like you are exploring nature "off the beaten path" while still being on a trail, this is a great place to do it! I will be going again!

Nice place to go and relax or hike the trails. Lake is pretty and peaceful. Perfect place for a picnic and fishing. Be sure to get a permit from the city of Bixby before you fish though.

Love this hidden gem just outside of Tulsa. It's a nice lake, set low, so it feels secluded. There are walking trails and some good hiking trails too. You can even hike around the lake, which is not always easy, so if you are inexperienced, it may take up to 2 hours.Another cool feature of this park is that there is a waterfall (better pics in summer) that you can also hike all around. Lastly, not sure what's up with the goats and mules around, but they are super kind and it was like a free petting zoo for my kids. This might be our new "go to" park for walks and hikes that aren't too far from home, especially on days when you know Gathering Place is crazy packed.

We kayak on this lake. It's smaller, surrounded by hills, walk to N of the lake to find the falls. Not for the unsteady.

Nice Lake. I went first time in winter and thought it a great place for a day out. Can't wait to visit during the summer.

Small lake touched away and serves as Bixby's water supply. The road going down to the lake is very steep and poorly maintained. The lake is peaceful with abundant bird life. There is road access for about half the lake. One road is closed die to landslide, you can park and proceed on foot. There are covered shelters, a few picnic tables and piers for fishing. People back their boat trailers in at a couple of points. It is very isolated and I would not recommend women go alone or even in pairs. The restrooms are boarded up. I am making it sound bad, but is beautiful blue and serene. I usually go places at off times because there is more chance to see wildlife. Today there is a great egret, Canadian geese, several types of warblers, woodpecker, chickadee, titmouse, phoebe, tananger, gnatcatchers, cardinals and an osprey just went over me with a fish dangling from it's talons!

Wow! 20+ years in Tulsa and I never know this great local spot existed! If you are looking for a chilled hike and aren't up for the exertion of Turkey, I have a place for you! There are several mile to mile and a half fairly flat trails by Lake Bixhoma. It's not a large, complicated area so my recommendation would be go, find a parking spot, and just start wandering! The sparkling lake is pretty, the woods are peaceful, and it's uncrowded. Commune with nature, and the like! There is a fairly challenging trail, Ichabod Crane Trail, one one side of the lake (at least the entrance is fairly steep), but it was clogged with super slippery fall leaves so I abandoned it. If you go in the fall, wear proper shoes (ie, not sketchers with worn tread). There is also fishing aplenty, and dogs are allowed (not in the lake itself) on leashes. There are picnic sites as well. There were no real trail maps that I saw, which is why I recommend being a pioneer and just heading out to see it for yourself.
