Wanted to try cause they have late night hours and their taco filling had one or two choices I don't normally see.A little "hole in the wall" vibe in a good way, went a little after 8pm on a mon. was not crowded. Whole operation was run by 1 very nice young lady. Counter order, then sit down. She brought the food out. Every thing prepared very quickly & very well. The tacos were good, the fillings were good, the torta was good the French fries were good and the table sauces (red&green) were good. It was all "good" if for some reason I was out at midnight I'd go here before a waffle house.

Dear La Frontera,I want to thank you for being in our city. I feel like I always get authentic and a good value at your restaurant. You are open late and it is such a blessing for those of us that sometimes want to take a drive at night and want something super delicious to enjoy late at night. Your nachos, chilli relleno meal , steak street tacos, and guacamole with chips are my favorite. Top it off with a Mexican bottled coke and Im in heaven! I feel as though you all are a part of my family because through every pregnancy, every late night celebration you guys have alway stayed open and served us the best food I could ask for. Often the truly greats dont get thanked enough so I want to thank you today on #ThankYouThursday for what a blessing you are in our city. Keep up the great work, food and open doors late at night. You are loved more than you know. God Bless you guys! Love,A often tired and hungry mom :)

Came here late at night after the drive from Houston. This place did not disappoint. Ordered the chicken nachos followed by a chicken taco and chorizo taco. One first arrival, we were instantly greeted and seated with chips and salsa. The salsa itself had a nice kick to it. The food itself was fulfilling and enjoyable. Simple decent price and good. The only upsetting part was the salsa verde and another type of hot sauce wasn't that great...but that also had a variety of bottles hot sauces to choose from. Definitely a must stop if you are ever in town.

I love that this taqueria is open till midnight on Monday thru Thursday. Even better that they're going strong til 3 a.m. on the weekends. Yep even Sunday! However there are weak points that are strengths elsewhere. My order was for 8 tacos, fully loaded, of pastor and barbacoa evenly. An order of pork flautas, and a humble chorizo burrito. Let's jump right in and just say this can't be someone's treasured recipes because the seasoning just isn't there. The tacos we're strictly diced white onions, cilantro and protein with a radish garnish. I say garnish because the pickling and vinegar flavor wasn't there, it was just pretty. The tortillas were white corn and held together well. Even with a good dose of lime juice- it just was missing something. Sazoñ? Adobo? Let's move on to the protein.. The pastor was moist and cooked down well, but still I had to ask is there even salt on this? Don't go all hypertensive and tell me it's good if the salt is lacking. Because you sir are wrong! The barbacoa was simmered and had a good profile. A good bet if you need a strong contender for late night tacos. The flautas had a good dose of cojita, lettuce, chopped Roma tomatoes and avocado on top of four pork flautas with rice and beans. The sides were standard Tex Mex cranked out like an assembly line. The rice was fluffy and the beans half mashed and whipped to a starchy mass. If that's your jam, go for it, but I will pass. The pork in the flautas was also underseasoned and a bit over cooked in their crispy yellow corn shells. I need seasoning Mijo!! A brilliant idea would be to simmer the pork in their salsa Verde and then roll the flautas up to be fried. Moving on to the chorizo packed burrito. There was the same yellow rice, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese mentioned previously inside this bundle. The chorizo was akin to what Morelos sells. Perhaps that's exactly what this was, but again The flavor wasn't there. The burrito was grilled on the flat top after it's creation but not enough to give it crispy sides. Perhaps this is post drinking session food but I was not wowed by any means. Please if nothing else, be warned THERE IS A TOOTHPICK IN THE BURRITO! Not like a Mardi Gras king cake where you need to find the baby, no, like in the side somewhere holding this creation together is a dagger of wood. Consider this a last resort if your on the NW side and only then should you get the aforementioned barbacoa.

This place is awesome. It's like an authentic taco truck became an actual hole-in-the-wall restaurant, which is exactly what I was looking for.As a Californian, I am really sick of Texmex. Not that Texmex isn't good, but all the chains taste the same to me and they are ALL OVER THE PLACE. I was REALLY craving some authentic Mexican food and this place really hit the spot.Menu: The menu is legit in that I don't know what half of it means.Food: The food is pretty basic in a good way. I've had the tacos, burritos, and tortas. No surprises; got exactly what I was expecting. The burrito had avocado slices in it, which was a nice touch!Hot sauce: They give you THREE difference squeeze bottles of hot sauce: two red and one green. They were all delicious and this is in addition to the generic brands of hot sauce they already have on the table.Ambience: Hole-in-the-wall vibe AKA hidden gem vibe.If you like street tacos or simple, authentic Mexican food, definitely give this place a shot. It's my new fav taco spot.
