After hiking around Eureka Springs most of the day, my wife decided a mid-afternoon nap was in order; I decided it was time for a beverage and snack. La Familia was the closest Mexican restaurant to the motel, and margarita's with chips and sauce are always the perfect answer for an afternoon treat.My $6 12oz. Watermelon Margarita was delicious and the complimentary chips were above average and the salsa was excellent with flavor and density. I added a large cup of queso and upgraded with added ground beef. Overall - a perfect little feast!My only complaint was being the only customer in the bar at 3:30pm and being completely ignored my the bartender. She was efficient but not in the least bit friendly, and us tourists love to talk to the locals. With a bit of small talk and attention that 15% tip would have easily been doubled, and 4 stars could have been a 5 star afternoon. . Just sayin!

This looked like a fun place to eat as the patio was good & inside looked like a good Mexican restaurant. Bad decision to eat there! We should've gone to Amigo's downtown. Had a Chile Relleno that was inedible because it wasn't deseeded or devained. Took 1 bite & couldn't eat it as it set my mouth on fire. I tore it apart & picked out a ton of seeds & showed the waitress, Kayleigh. She argued with me that it was just the way it is cooked & too bad if it's too hot. I asked her to remove the relleno from my check. She called over a Hispanic male to join her in arguing with me & embarrass me in front of the small crowd in the restaurant. He was even more insulting than her! These were some very rude wait staff & for that reason I would not recommend eating there. The food is quite substandard as well. The only reason for 2 stars is for the decent chips & salsa...lol.

Good things: Chips and salsa, food taste.Bad things: Wrong order--ordered one taco no onions and one chile relleno but brought a taco with onions and green peppers and the chile relleno meal (double the price). Half drank a glass a water that had dirty hard cheese stuck to the inside of the glass. Service was bad--had to request check from another waitress as ours did a Facebook Live post outside. Other waitresses appeared to be disputing who got to work outside. Improper money handling--should have given dollars and cents back but said she didn't have the cents so she shorted the money back when she could have opened the register for change.

So finding a dinner spot for our group of 14 during COVID on Labor Day weekend was a challenge to say the least. WE fortunately lucked into this spot. They were busy, but very quickly got us seated and orders taken. The chips were fresh and crisp and their salsas very flavorful. They had a very full menu providing all sorts of Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites. I had a shrimp chimichanga. the shrimp were larger than expected and plentiful. This is a common issue when I order seafood in most Mexican places, but they provided plenty. I was truly surprised that all of our kids loved it too.The staff was friendly and very accommodating and made this a very pleasant meal for us. I would highly recommend them.

We were a bit reluctant to try this restaurant based on past reviews, one of which compared the food taste to "death." Our experience could not have been more different. Granted we were there in a weekday for a late lunch but the food and service were excellent particularly at a time when the restaurant industry is struggling to find workers due to covid. I had the shrimp chimichanga. It was stuffed with cheese and large shrimp. If you ever had ChiChis shrimp chimichanga, this one is close if not better. From the queso sauce to the rice side, every bite was great. I opted to substitute pico for beans. While a bit spicy, the pico was flavorful. My husband had the beef taco salad. It was larger than the average taco salad and filled with lettuce, tomato, and ample ground beef. Guacamole and sour cream were on the side. Our service was friendly and efficient. Chips and savory salsa arrived quickly which is a must for a good Mexican restaurant. Add cold beer and flavorful house margarita , it made for a great lunch experience.

Very fresh and delish! We had street tacos and taco salad. The guacamole and salsa were wonderful and we also enjoyed queso. This is our 3rd time at LaFamilia and every time it has been so good!Highly recommend!!!!

If you are looking for some good Mexican food with good service go to Amigos in downtown Eureka Springs. This place has sub par food and the place could use a deep clean.

Good TexMex. Cheese enchiladas were very good with chili gravy. Queso was nice as well. Service was fairly good got our order which had some special requests with little kiddos. Decorated in the usual Mexican tradition. Good location away from downtown. Plenty of parking.

Delicious!!! Great service, nice chill atmosphere, and great chips and salsa too! If you're visiting Eureka Springs, please stop in! You'll be happy you did!
